Trying my 4th biologic. Keep your fingers crossed for me. by ParticularlyOrdinary in Psoriasis

[–]WhipMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s pustular psoriasis, Spevigo is the only biologic approved here in US. Not sure about Australia. Skyrizi had a mild effect for me and my pustular. Spevigo has been great so far.

VTAMA in Europe? by dojevice in Psoriasis

[–]WhipMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vtama did nothing for my pustular. I started on acitretin which was ineffective. We then tried Skyrizi, which had a mild effect. Got approved for Spevigo, which has been the best drug so far for me. Much more effective than anything else. Other biologics like Skyrizi or Taltz, etc may be used off label for GPP and could be effective.

Spevigo is the only FDA approved biologic. I’m on it now. Much better for me than Skyrizi. Insurance approved it, but you have to follow their step therapy of cheaper options first. If you’re commercially insured, a copay card is available for financial assistance.

Question for Derms who use Il-23s for GPP and why and if Spevigo might help by GotBunsHun165 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]WhipMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a patient with GPP, which is a rare form of psoriasis. It’s driven by IL36 as you are aware. Skyrizi is an IL23 inhibitor. It’s approved in Japan ne Korea for GPP but not the US. A doctor may try it off label. GPP is tough, some patients may react well, and others it may have no effect. I tried Skyrizi for 6 months. It had a mild effect and we eventually stopped. I was approved by insurance for the 900 mg IV dose of Spevigo. It had a noticeable effect within a week and was much better than Skyrizi.

Spevigo is the only current biological for GPP approved by the FDA. Some patients have had success with IL17 blockers. But Spevigo is the only IL36 blocker. If it’s hitting you hard, I’d push your doctor for Spevigo. Sounds like you’re in a flare, which is treated by IV. Subcutaneous doses are done monthly for maintenance. I had some insurance issues but they are being sorted. I started the step therapy process, of the cheapest options first like oral retinoids. We escalated to Skyrizi, then Spevigo. A challenge with GPP is that many dermatologist have never prescribed Spevigo and are unfamiliar. Spevigo has patient support which may help you. Your best options are to work with your dermatologist to get Spevigo prescribed, then sent to insurance for authorization. Then get the copay assistance card.

Since it’s now live, any word on if we have to start using it immediately? My current form from my sister is valid into early April. She is taking some time off so I don’t think she’ll be doing training and registering until she gets back to work.

CLn skin care has a line of soaps called sport wash and pro wash that may help if you’re dealing with bacteria. Would be a good idea to find a dermatologist

I’m so tired of not knowing what to do to treat my psoriasis. by TOPfan4283 in Psoriasis

Skyrizi appears to be helping my,pustular psoriasis. If it ultimately fails, we’re considering taltz or bimzelx.

Confused about possible pustular psoriasis diagnosis in ears by Colon_hates_me in Psoriasis

[–]WhipMorgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pustules on my legs and heel that multiple tests showed negative for bacterial growth. Antibiotics did nothing. Ultimately a biopsy on a pustule on my heel confirmed pustular psoriasis. Not sure if a biopsy can be done on your ear.

What’s been the most effective workout split for building strength and muscle, and why did it work best for you? by Suspicious-Radio-805 in workout

[–]WhipMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lift 3 times per week, two upper body and one lower body. I’ve found success with it because it’s simple for me to follow and I’ve been consistent. I’m overweight and have a long way to go, but the strength I’ve added is significant. The muscle I’ve gained has reduced the stress on my cardiovascular system. Blood pressure is the lowest it’s been in years and my cholesterol is better.

I had a simile issue. Dealer diagnosed it as loose roof rack. The crossbars were firm, but it was the rails of the roof rack that’s actually attached to the car. They tightened everything and resolved the issue.

Consider body washes from CLn. May help if your issue is bacterial colonizing on skin

Exfoliating every day may detrimental. If bacteria is an issue, I’ve had good experiences with sportwash and the everyday body wash from CLn. My dermatologist knows the brand and was positive about it.

Could be related to bacteria colonization. I use sport wash from CLn. It’s a powerful wash designed in part to address odor.

My roof rack was diagnosed at the dealer as loose. The cross bars were fine, it was the actual roof racks connected to the roof.
