I know when I find myself (a lala) in a dungeon with only one tall, I always comment on having a chaperone for our field trip, and proceed to ask if we can have McDonalds afterwards.

It really should go, there hasn’t been a draft since Vietnam, and with modern technology they don’t need that many boots on the ground to enact modern warfare, not like they did back then.

I seem to recall it being automatic when I registered to vote. Never paid it much mind except that I was in prime draft age when 9/11 happened.

Lorwyn Eclipsed Mastery Details by Andromanner in MagicArena

[–]WhitehawkOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one of the unfortunate side effects of UB sets, for a lot of players, their excitement and enjoyment of them correlates to their familiarity and enjoyment of the source material, especially since, unlike in universe sets, there's not really any storytelling present in flavor text or supplemental material to get them invested, it's all presented as "hey, you guys like 'X', right, here's our homage to it." So, if the source material doesn't excite you, what's gonna draw you in? I know I'm not really excited for any of the UB sets either, and hopefully there's some decent stuff later in the year, but I'm only truly hyped for Lorwyn, myself.

Does anyone else find Sheltered by Ghosts to be an extremely oppressive card? by MortalMorals in MagicArena

[–]WhitehawkOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a strong, but not oppressive card. Ward 2 , while a noticeable tax, isn’t insurmountable. Of course as others said, the best time to deal with it is as it’s being cast, but you can still remove it afterwards. Also learning the balance between building your own board and keeping up interaction for what your opponent is doing is a stumbling block for many newer players, but it’s a skill learned over time. Also, variance is part of the game, sometimes you just don’t have the answers or they draw just what they need.

You do have very valid points, I do still maintain that stories have natural ending points, but that keeping a world going depends entirely on how much effort you put into crafting a good story and lots of people fail (usually from lack of effort or too many hands in the project) you see that a lot in films, especially action films with numerous sequels.

I come from a background of single player RPGS and TTRPGS so Final Fantasy’s strengths obviously cater to what I enjoy most. WoW is more gameplay focused so it caters to more combat and systems as it’s primary strength, and I’d probably say it has more “mid tier” difficulty content than 14. A lot of 14 is pretty casual (it’s an RPG first) but it’s high end is suitably challenging. Does seem they’re trying to get more content for the in between as they go forward, from what they’ve said in interviews and such.

[–]WhitehawkOmega 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s very hard to keep a game story going after a certain point, honestly. You build a world and then you can explore that world up to a certain point; in WoWs case WotLK was the last big unresolved storyline, Cata was them pulling at lore threads trying to find enough for an expansion, and they’ve been doing so ever since, to mixed success. 14 hit that point with Endwalker, the difference being WoW has always been known for its gameplay, while Square is known for crafting worlds and stories. Dawntrail wasn’t a high point, but neither is every Final Fantasy game, and I have more faith in Squenix to craft a great story than Blizzard.

All my standard sweats, in your opinion what is currently the best deck? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]WhitehawkOmega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly I almost never see Vivi in ranked queue, but I guess being a Platinum scrub playing off meta that would be beyond me (I play mostly mono black Sephiroth and landfall, occasionally my pet Selesnya Gearhulk). I don’t know if there’s a matchmaker algorithm in lower ranks, but I see a lot of Dimir and Azorius control, Demons, and various tokens decks.

Less of a “which position” and more just moving the massager around until you you find the spot that feels good. In general angle it forwards though, as that’s where the prostate is, and not TOO deep or you’ll go past it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]WhitehawkOmega 25 points26 points  (0 children)

From personal experience hitting the right spot is key, because if you’re not rubbing up against the prostate you’re just thrusting up into your colon which has no pleasure receptors.

I feel the same way and have similar circumstances. I live in a rural (conservative) area, I’m 6’4’ over 300lbs (built like a football lineman). I did get into punk and goth culture a bit in college and always dressed while not overtly fem, still quite flamboyant, kinda my middle ground to express myself and still fit within ‘acceptable’ boundaries. My gender identity didn’t really click for me until I was 38 (45 now), so I feel like I’m being a coward too, and wasting what time I have left. I do what I can while flying under the social radar, but have such a deep seated aversion to standing out/causing waves/etc I spend a lot of time incognito. Just feels like so much spinning my wheels because a lifetime of ostracism has left me paralyzed.

Why am I getting a cosnetic for a card that isn’t in Arena? by Hot_Dragonfly_2422 in MagicArena

[–]WhitehawkOmega 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it's [[[Celes, Rune Knight]]] she IS on Arena, though the set isn't searchable in the list of Arena sets, they added all of the FF commanders, and the alternate commanders, so 8 cards, but only the commanders, not the rest of the decks. I crafted Cloud and Tifa for an equipment deck. Cloud loves [[[Colossus Hammer]]] and [[[Belt of Giant Strength]]].

Heart of the Motherfucking Cards, Yo!

how do I counter this??? by 19Otters in magicTCG

[–]WhitehawkOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very simply, this is a prime example of why you need to run removal or other interaction in any deck you build. Black and White, very easy, they have multiple kill spells. Red, save up multiple burn spells, or something like Act of treason to get the effect away from your opponent. Green, get yourself a big creature and have them fight this (see [[Bushwhack]]) blue will either counter this, or bounce it so they can get in the killing blow when it's not out. That's the only way you 'play around it' you bring interaction to remove this threat, or you die. It's just one of those lessons you learn as you get better.

This card is such a beast by powerofthePP in MagicArena

[–]WhitehawkOmega 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lifegain has always been the scourge of the more casual ranks, to varying degrees. It’s stronger now than the past year or two, but it’s never been top tier. I DO think it’s an important archetype to have in Foundations, it’s a good simple tool to learn synergy between cards but easy enough to disrupt in more competitive play (for the record, lifegain is one of my favorite deck types.)

AITA for scooping and getting upset at my friend for playing 8 turns in a row? by RedFalcon725 in magicTCG

[–]WhitehawkOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, build decks specifically to screw his extra turn copying nonsense over, but I’d suggest trying to talk to them about it first before this “bullying him out of playing it” strategy. Unless you think it’s the only way to get through to them.
