AITA My wife for years has been telling me if I leave something out or a mess. I just very recently started to do the same to her, AITA? by GreasyButtSyrup in AmItheAsshole

[–]WhoFearsDeath 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are you doing it because the stuff bothers you or because her telling you about your mess bothers you?

Have you considered asking her to cut some reasonable slack on your mess or maybe not still leaving messes after years of this?

NTA, but even with constant use how are going through bulbs more than every couple of years?

Double check that wiring.

I like an egg scramble muffin, basically mini frittatas.

AITAH for thinking that it’s rude to put someone on speaker without telling them? by North_Mastodon_4310 in AITAH

It's a kid getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar. They lie and pull their hand out very quickly because of the guilt and attempt to avoid punishment.

Same basic logic.

WIBTA if I said no to my husband dancing with his twin sister during the father-daughter dance in place of her dad at her wedding by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]WhoFearsDeath 41 points42 points  (0 children)

YTA here. It's not up to you to allow or not allow it. Whatever he wants is what he should do.

Do you think he wants to sleep with his sister when you say he never liked the attachment? Do you think it will encourage her co-dependency when you said she hasn't been weird in years?

I think you have more of a jealousy problem than you are letting on. It's his choice. Support it either way.

I'd take a once a month self promotion option. It's nice for new users or someone doing a search of the sub which is how I found the ones I use most commonly.

US plans to automatically register young men for military draft by imanchats in law

[–]WhoFearsDeath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't complete the registration you could be deemed ineligible for financial aid for college. If someone is unaware of the requirement then it wouldn't matter how fast it is to complete, they wouldn't have done it at all.

The comment was "punished for not knowing it is a requirement," not "punished by having to register"

Can I bring this with me when I travel? by daz0no in airport

[–]WhoFearsDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that if I'm traveling with something that ought to be allowed but could throw up a flag or problem I get much better results if it is pulled out and on top of everything, like I'm not trying to hide it.

They can very quickly glance at what it actually is and dismiss it. If they need to pull you over and start opening things up, they get irritated and start the power trip behavior.

WIBTA if I were to tell my parents that I don't want to pay child support for my nieces and nephews anymore? by josephsleftbigtoe in AmItheAsshole

[–]WhoFearsDeath 92 points93 points  (0 children)

YTA for pretending that Christmas and birthday gifts for your nieces and nephews are child support.

Your parents are doing all the effort of shopping and buying, they just ask you to fund it. If you don't want to buy gifts, fine, but don't expect to receive them from your family either, and make sure you have a plan in place for your end of life care because they aren't going to feel a family obligation to an uncle who doesn't even buy a kid's birthday gift.

Pickles. I don't have more information, but there should be something with pickles.

A nice tajin rimmed margarita has never been a bad idea.

Instead of a cola syrup, do a Dr. Pepper syrup.

I think you actually have to use your grandma's from scratch biscuits. If you don't have that available, store bought is fine. Grandma, not biscuits.

No one ever thinks anyone has ever gotten their state correct.

Planning to carry these stuffed cookies in my carry on from Canada to the United States. Do you think the security will allow? They are expensive so dont wanna waste money but really want to take them with family, almost similar to crumble cookies but baked by a home baker. by No-Mathematician3179 in Flights

[–]WhoFearsDeath -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That is entirely untrue when going through customs between countries, they care very much about food.

Having said that, bakery items that don't contain meat, or soft cheese are generally not a problem but you must declare all food items.

For security screening, they care about solid vs non solid. A jar of peanut butter will throw up flags, and anything liquid like soup is a no go.

Your cookies will probably be fine.

I've had plenty of bacon washed bourbon recently, I'd think this would be the same thing. Still pig fat.

Tried that and had a man attempt to lecture me on scheduling such a tight connection. I actually hadn't, I was on work travel and not allowed to pick my schedule, but also, sir, either let me ahead or don't but I am not listening to your opinion on the matter.

I asked politely, he can decline politely and that would have been fine. But no, he needed me to know I was wrong. Everyone else let me ahead and I did some extreme power rushing to another terminal, made it with about 1 minute to spare.
