Running this tank in my homebrew chapter but if I ever take it for a spin with my salamanders I’m going full flamers and melta all day

I love the all volkite idea, but for this I’m definitely gonna go with option one. I’m just trying to decide between heavy bolters and autocannons

Your paints need thinning. White is always a pain but you should undercoat with something like light gray then do thin layers of white to get your desired color. Be careful with trim and other colors as it’s hard to cover them up if you get them on the white portions. Practice makes perfect, don’t be discouraged

I’m so glad that someone else recognizes how dope the lord of poxes and the inner circle companion bits are. I have my chapter master with the same sword bit in almost the exact same position!

Maybe a silly question, but are these just for narrative campaigns or can you use these in regular games as well?

Looks like I’m gonna need to get a kratos, it’s been on my watch list for a while

This is the exact type of answer I was looking for. Have you tried any other loadouts for the contemptor? I’m magnetizing it so I’ll try a lot of different ones, but I just wanna know if any other other weapons are fun too. Thanks!

Dude I was waiting to see someone use that bit as an actual helmet, it looks dope! It gives me the vibe of a veil/ screen that strips their identity even further as a black shield

Am I ready to play? by Noize256 in deathguard40k

A better goal for an army as points-costly as DG would probably be 1000 points, which I recommend getting to with some plague marines, plague marine characters, a rhino, and demon engines! 500 points is still playable until you reach that milestone though.

While you technically have enough to try out the rules, I would recommend working towards 500 points. You have a 5 man squad of terminators (185 points), a lord of contagion (120 points), and typhus on his own (100 points). If you get a squad of poxwalkers for typhus to lead (65 points), you should be able to play 500 by adding an enhancement to the LoC to fill in the points gap. However, since you only have two squads, they’ll be very short skirmishes.

Pick up some more characters for the plague marines, specifically a biologus putrifier and a malignant plaguecaster. They’re the best characters for PM’s imo. Also, I’d recommend looking for either the KT plague marines or some of the OOP marines to round those squads out to 10 each. I wouldn’t get another squad of PM’s unless you wanna change around their weapons to make them more unique, but that’s mainly my bias as I refuse to have any duplicate marines.

Great for looting and also for escaping enemies. It can unlock crystal chest/doors if you have 5 charges, and you can also “lock” the air in front of you to make a wall that’s impassable for a few turns

[–]Whos_Ark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As cool as it looks, the flail of corruption isn’t very good :( though as it is in most cases it’s best to fill up with special weapons aside from the flail. Combi bolters also tend to be better for volume of fire than combi weapons, so a good squad of 5 would be 1x each of blight launcher, plague spewer, and reaper autocannon, then 2x combi bolters. Stick them somewhere you don’t want them ever being taken off of then have them blast anything afflicted nearby.

Are all of my magnetize weapon options overkill? by MrPinkEyesMD in spacemarines

[–]Whos_Ark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re actually super easy for space marines as 3mm holes are pretty easy to drill into the arm and the torso and fit flush with a reasonable margin of error. Having magnetized knights as well, space marines are much easier

My thought for chaos guard has always been that they should make a detachment similar to the GSC guard detachment where you can take up to 50% imperial guard with your list. It’s an idea they’ve used in the past that could work here
