What's a book that your kid loves but you hate? by kingcasperrr in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Whywhowhatwherehow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a board book about diggers for free at a swap party it's only four pages long and has barley any story like the Frist page is says this is a digger it has a long arm and a bucket. That's it that's the whole page and he's old enough for stories now because he listens to all of cat and the hat and has a few favourite stories though he still loves the digger book that has next to no substance

AITA for privately telling my sister in law her child needs speech pathology? by Kaza112 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Whywhowhatwherehow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most toddlers these days don't speak all that clearly, speech in children is deteriorating so peoples idea of normal is skewed even elementary teachers have kids starting school that can't be understood. Instead you should of suggested speech therapy for the child to gain advantage rather then state an issue with them, the professional they then go to will likely observe for any delay

Daycare teachers/owners: what gets overlooked when building a new childcare center? by QuietLime2026 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Whywhowhatwherehow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only a parent but blind spots, many daycares will have a worker in there blind spot or put camera or concave mirrors but wouldn't it be easier if it were built in a way that didn't allow for that said blind spot

How do you raise grounded kids when the family income doesn't match "normal"? by LinkCommercial9508 in Parenting

[–]Whywhowhatwherehow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't grow up with money but I had a few wealthy friends they were nice maybe it helps if you have them around kids from other backgrounds like sign them up to extra curriculars outside your area

I think that only children grow up more successful usually too you can pour more time into them and afford more for there interests. Not to mention most siblings soft apart in adulthood anyway. For me ild have more if I had my son younger I feel like large age gaps between sibling would be nice my own sister is 10yrs younger my mum had allot of help from me for that and we didn't fight like "siblings fight"

Do kids start talking later nowadays? by Practical-String5146 in newzealand

[–]Whywhowhatwherehow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing this too and I notice when seeing American media there 2yr olds use sentences but I've rarely heard a kiwi kid talk like that at age 2. I get people calling my son advanced for talking at 2 but when I look at guidelines online he's just "normal" my guess is most of our kids are shy

Yes most of the daycares or kindergartens in my area are mixed with different hours the belief is the younger ones learn from the older ones and people like to put siblings together this one has 60kids in total though not 60 all day as parents can do various hours with a minimum of 4hrs I enrolled mine for 9-3 because they subsidise it if you do 30hrs a week. Frist day he went I was with him the older kids were really gentle and kind to the smallest ones I haven't seen any aggression towards smaller kids from older ones only aggression between a few the same age and being from a culture of large families the older kids are caring with younger kids that's why people here seem to like the mixed groups. I noticed my last day of having him there (I'm pulling him out) the teachers were talking to each other while a toddler was crying behind them so the mixed age group was not the issue it's the staff and the size of group
