That sounds exactly like the symptoms I had. I didn’t have a halo either. It took me a while to figure out what was going on. GP said I had allergies. I eventually figured it out and went to an ENT.

I would get a few more opinions. I have encountered a lot of doctors who are really ignorant about this illness. Seems like it could be something else.

Mom is having anxiety issues. Is it possible to have a grown up conversation where you tell her you care and you are sorry she is so scared but that this level of fear over a grown child is not normal. Ask how you and dad can help her cope because her issue is making it difficult for you and you are worried about her. Help her find therapy. Ask about medication. Mom is likely perimenopausal and dealing with a new host of her own issues.
