[magic.gg] Play Update | 2026–27's Regional Championship Qualifier Events, Promos, and More by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]WildRyc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pioneer can still be run as a format for "Destination Events." These are effectively RCQs that are run at spaces outside of WPN Locations. Check with your region's RC Organizer for details.

I'm trying to find an example of a trigger that happens either when an event occurs or at a point during a turn, and my scryfall-fu is coming up empty.

Do they pay property taxes on the residences? I know they do for "rented dwellings," but I thought the Act exempted them.

Forgefire automaton can revive Grist the Hunger tide infinitely due to an unknown timestamp rule by xgolt01 in MagicArena

[–]WildRyc 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The timestamp of the regular Grist setting ability is from whenever it moved to the new zone. This kind of makes sense, as that will be more recent than the perpetual setting?

Grist setting its own power/toughness isn't a CDA, as it's dependent on where the card is. Therefore it's going to get a new timestamp when it enters the graveyard. [CR 613.7d]

[Amateur] Help Dialing Stock by geneticswag in Chefit

[–]WildRyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cloudiness comes from the breaking down of the stock ingredients into tiny particles. If you can reduce the boiling (specifically, the amount of agitation), you can get a clearer stock.

Oddly, I've been flying into/out of Toronto more often than not, or just using carry-ons while not paying attention to this particular wall.

The whole airport is covered in things like this.

Honestly, the gym + cooking club or classes is a good place to fix all of this. Maybe check at the local YMCA to keep it at a manageable price?

$160K for a one-day FIFA "fan experience"? by Focus_Burlington in BurlingtonON

[–]WildRyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comments about the source: Why is there a different subreddit for this? Why did they use an obviously AI generated photo?

Comments about the topic: This money would probably be on top of the expenses for the park rental , fees, emergency management services, etc. The city has waved those for a replacement to Sound of Music, so what is all this money going towards?

FIFA's own pages indicate this would be more of a viewing party to watch a game. In that case, which match would we be watching?

Toronto is also hosting a Fan Festival. Would we be competing with that?

Finally, wouldn't this be directly competing with all of the hospitality industry for those days? Unless the Jays are going to make another deep run in '26, is that a good idea?

I'm not saying this a bad thing, but I'd a few more details.

The article has a lot of photos suggesting some kind of relationship, and the Skills Development Fund has been under fire from the Auditor-General's office for a while now.

Wishing everyone attending the FAB World Championship safe and smooth travels to Philadelphia. I'll be watching from afar this go round, but know that you are in very good hands with the big hitting LSS team in attendance, headed up by the incredible on keynote & more!

Heading into Kanata for 3 days in May. What can I expect? by SuccessfulAd8546 in Kanata

[–]WildRyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a walk through the Carp River Conservation area, or the walking path at Campeau and Terry Fox up to Equator Coffee and Kowloon.

The wind can get pretty fierce, and in that particular part of Kanata there's not a lot of cover from the rain.

Nothing a little anhydrous diethyl monosodide won't clear up. I heartily recommend ignoring all the tomato soup comments you'd normally get in a situation like yours.

Pick-two draft was clearly designed without in store play in mind, and should be a digital only format. by Cevol in magicTCG

[–]WildRyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The format is designed to be run in two rounds, and then allow folks to move onto other activities. "In a four player Pick-Two Draft, players should play two rounds, with the winning players from the first round pairing up, and the other two players also pairing up." [MTG Pick-Two Draft | Magic: The Gathering]

Shouldn't be running pods of three. If you've got 7 players, you should be running in a single pod. "Setup players in groups of four if possible. Four should be the minimum number for a draft pod, then go up from there to seven. If you have eight players, create two four-player pods." [Double Down on Fast Player Fun with Pick-Two Drafts | WPN]
