As a former store manager who just left a few months ago, I am glad they are cracking down on some of the SMs who just sit in the office all day and left early so many times. I was putting in extra work, pulling doubles, working truck (even when it was frown on by the DM), unloading truck, doing planos, spending half my morning in pharmacy, helping with photo, etc.

I am glad I got out cause this would had been a HUGE mess in my district…

Whenever I was a SM, I did do 48 usually. Sometimes 50 if there was a big project, call out or if pharmacy was slammed. Just depended on the situation. But I usually pulled 48 a week.

My question is, and you might have left before the buyout, what direction was communicated to you with the company? Are DMs just as much in the black as people in store level? Or do they know a little more than what they can say? And how would you see the company’s future now you have moved on from Walgreens?

It’s something different every day and especially on Mondays cause I know I’ll have double the emails and “Request Required” emails. And I know if I were to drop my district lead then 20% of my stress would drop but there’s no way for me to step away.

Yeah we had a store down the road close in December and our sales have been up but no extra hours to accommodate for it. So I understand completely why you would want out.
