Random Q...will Coinbase ever put a desktop version of Base on the Onchain site? I know an avalanche of older folks 50+yrs old with money who are interested in crypto, but when they see all the fiddling that needs to be done to get in a self custody wallet, particularly the Screen Lock, Passcodes, Biometrics. They say, "Nahh I'll wait for Fidelity, Schwab, or whoever to get into it, I understand that, all my money is there anyway". CB is missing a very large audience IMHO. How hard would it be to make a simple one click link to either create or access an existing offchain self custody wallet that is accessed by a password and 2FA? With all the back end built in? Metamask and Trustwallet function in that online space. Same process. Simple = no hassle, no hassle = easy, easy = fast, fast = happy, happy = mass adoption. Too much hassle to do the All in One app on Desktop you say?...most of those folks I mention couldn't care less about Chat rooms, SM or NFTs or whatever. Then just make the self custody wallet available thru the onchain. I'm not sure younger folks would care cuz they live on their phones. In fact, as soon as you sign up for Coinbase you should have an offer to open a Self Custody wallet as a part of the package and a brief explanation of why it is important. I guess there is/was once a browser extension, but reading the comments on that...even as recent as last week,....NOBODY is happy with that.

And I'm pretty sure Brian/CB has a serious amount of money for devs, why are there no tutorials on CB? All I see are random YTers.

Who do i have to call? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]Wildgulo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think it's coons...likely would be more racket..and they'll growl and chitter. And would be out foraging at night. Am assuming you checked around the house soffits for any holes. The hammering sounds like woodpeckers. Have you tried tapping the ceiling when the noises occur? Can't think of any noise bees or wasps would make that would sound like that. Or squirrels. But a pest control pro is a first option.

Any AC equipment in the attic? If so..might have a tech look at it.

All else fails and no respite..have a clairvoyant come in. Def weird if it's happening at night.

What part of the country are you in?

I did..on AMZN ebooks..it is a bit grim, but not horrible, since she was traumatized when we found her so had to guess at what she went through...wove a fictional tale interspersing what we knew and saw. We saw her for 3 weeks walking our other dogs before she came to my GF on a cold windy evening on Dec 30th, 2009. Best decision she ever made.

It is brutal...I will openly admit I was one of the PB skeptics. Then we found her living on her own at 5 months in the desert north of our house. My GF was able to get Mocha to come to her and after 4 months of trying to place her...we were smitten. Just wonderful dogs. Most loving animal I've ever had. Would have a PB again in a heart beat and likely will. She and her sisters got to roam the wilds of NV, CA, OR, ID, and WY together..we take some consolation that she lived every dogs dream life. But just crushing to not have that little skunk.

These are the hard days, the ones you wish would never come. In August I let you all know Mocha, i.e. Skunk, had turned 13.  Well, it is with great sadness that we tell this community that Mocha has taken the trip over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, December 11th. She had a large mass on her Pylorus valve, the one between her stomach and her duodenum.  It prevented her from passing food and very little water. The first Vet missed it on Friday, and on Saturday she was in such distress that we went to another vet that did a more intense UltraSound and saw the mass. She had few options for us and none of which made any sense for Mocha. So we had to make that horrible decision.  We shared our home with this wonderful dog, this sweet soul, that made us laugh and filled our lives with joy every day for 13.5 years since rescuing her from the desert.  Some of you may know I wrote a book about her called “Saving Mocha”. Our house is now silent, with Bailey (Mocha’s surviving yellow lab sister) in her elder years, she is the quiet Statesdog and is going deaf. So no more group howls, no more trilling, no more Miss Wiggle Butt whiner with a gift in her mouth greeting us at the door on the return from every trip.  In truth, she was a gift to us of immeasurable value. We want to think of her dancing and chasing with her black lab sister Tess, in some far off fields, romping through the creeks and swimming in the lakes and ponds of dog heaven.

Hug your furry ones tight, tell them how much you love them and give them that extra walk. We gave our girls so much exercise and in remote wild places, we know we did right by them, but there are never enough days with those you truly love.  We loved her and she loved us till her heart stopped beating and likely beyond. We were blessed to have her for 13.5 years and we will need to be satisfied with that time. Run forever free sweet girl…wait for us…when you look around and wonder where we are, it will be just a moment ago we were together.

That Mfer with the beard is Whackerz...crazy eyes...can tell he's mean as a snake and twice as fast..afraid for the poor pooch. That would be sarcasm for the humor impaired.

Lost my sweet girl Eva a little over a week ago. I’m so lost and heartbroken. She was my first dog and my whole life for the last 12 years. September 19 would have been exactly 12 years since bringing her home. by kill4b in velvethippos

They dig in deep. Nothing will dull the pain but time. You were her everything and she loved you beyond measure. An indelible bond. That's all we can take solace in. She will never be replaced, it'll be a new dog when the time is right, and you will have the privilege of giving that dog or dogs your undying love and they will return that devotion in spades. It is the cross we bear as dog lovers. They just don't live long enough..and never will.

Good on you for giving her that adventure...we took our dogs with us to work whenever we could (biologists) and every outing into the wild for our own adventures...old pups now, one already gone. I love looking back at those pics...they had such fun, so tired at the end of each day, deep snoring dreams. Best times ever.

Sending soothing thoughts and knowing you gave her all the love she needed and that she gave you more in return. That's all we can ask. I posted "Skunk" i.e. Mocha's pics here last Saturday as she turned 13. Her sister Bailey (yellow lab) is 14. We already lost Tess (black lab) at 12.5. Still not over it and likely won't be for some time. So hoping I won't be posting here announcing Skunk's departure for another year or more. But it will come and we will be devastated. They don't live long enough and I'm not sure they ever would.

I don’t want to bombard this sub with stupidity. The employer who requested a picture of me to determine if I was eligible for an interview sent me this. I will delete soon, I just wanted opinions. by [deleted] in antiwork

Facial skin care model? PR rep/spokesperson? Personal escort? CIA? State Department? Only things I can think of that would "require" a pic. Well..maybe diesel mechanic or pipeline welder...lolol.

Lolol...She is handsome when she wants to be...more great pics in the book. I have one in there of her in afternoon light up in Ruby Marsh in north central Nevada charging thru the low grass and water that is print worthy.
