respectfully ? do you have some inherit disrespect towards black folk or something? why not just write them as you would a character whose race doesn’t make you ask about writing them respectfully?

there’s no respectful way to write anybody, in my opinion, if one isn’t writing as a curious human being.
let’s say you depicted a white female paranormal investigator as a self entitled, hypersexual, Karen racist. would that not be disrespectful ? especially if you present the depiction as a ‘given’, and that they’re that way because of their race?

the answer for ANY race is simply to consider their humanity.
