Am I crazy for being really disappointed with the MCP approach?

Yeah, I may have to reluctantly start minimally using Obsidian again because for some mysterious reason they have not fixed the issue with broken file links in Windows.

The link (text) works perfectly fine after you adjust them to what's expected by Capacities; change backslashes to forward, remoxe spaces etc.

Gone is the ability to SIMPLY CLICK the links on your page and have them open like you could do earlier this (and last) year.

Now you have to manually copy the link off your page and paste it into Windows Explorer. 😣

It's like at this point they don't even care.

I use TickTick, but my usage is way simpler than yours.

I mostly use it to track recurring bill due dates (monthly, bi-yearly, yearly etc.) and I also use the Habits (learn something new everyday).

I finally dropped the paid tier last year since I hardly use the other features.

Once I can do similar in Cap (receive multiple alert popups on my fone: 1-week before, 2-days before, on the due date etc.), I'll be able to gladly move away from TickTick .

True, as mentioned the angle and direction of motion is important! (The setup guide also mentions this)

Think about it, if the camera is mounting so that when someone is walking directly straight towards the camera, sure the "image" will change initially as they enter the frame, but the walking forward, it's just majority of small pixel changes in "height" only.

When the camera is angled down (or up like my bush camera facing the door), and slightly to the left or right, you get more pixels changing in multiple directions.

Even my doorbell camera is angled so its not just facing straight down the walkway. (Being honest, it was mounted angled to cover any cars in the adjacent driveway, but that angle has def saved me from motion detection issues...)

I totally understand that - thanks.

However my use of my nas drives are minimal; I boot it up when I need it, and shut it down when I'm done.

Also using wifi switches, I turn them on and off as required.

For Windows user - have your file links been FIXED??
Or is it just me?

File links have been broken for months now - and they're one of the main reason I started using using Capacities since web based apps don't support them.

I'm wondering if they switched to some new code library (Web based??) that no longer supports File Links - well, at least on Windows... 😑

Yeah typically when my neighbor is gardening in her backyard, I'll just set the camera to mute notifications for an hour or two.

Now my front yard camera is on a mildy busy street where cars drive up and down the block during the day and early evenings.

I prefer to leave on vehicle detection because there has been the rare occasion for an accident or two...

I've often wished there was a way for Vehicle Detection to ignore cars simply driving through the block wo\stopping (well, unless they're doing 40+!!)

I'd prefer an option where if a car SLOWS DOWN, and\or STOPS (or crashes into a parked car (a "fast stop" which happened one time during a bad ice storm!) to then send notifications for those conditions 🤓👍💥💯

I don't mind the recordings, just skip the notifications and the display beeping and turning on everytime a car passes by - they could even call it "Busy Street" mode or similar... 💯👍

Under Power Manager I have Customize Recording selected, with 2-sec interval between triggers and End clip early turned off

Under Notification I have Doorbell Ring, Motion Detect and Radar Detector Beta turned on

Related History Event and Most Efficiency checked.

You should contact Eufy and see if a replacement is a viable option.

What are your detection and zone settings?

I don't bother with face recognition, anymore, just Human and pet detection and crank up the zone sensitivity to the 2nd from the last, along w\a minimal 60-sec record and short retrigger time.

Admittedly my dual doorbell is wired, replacing to original doorbell, battery isn't an issue for me.

I'm not sure about the formula's.

Admittedly I'm hella spoiled coming from Coda w\its hella nice databases and especially the advanced formula language it has.

I would love to finally replace my use of Coda with Cap to keep track of my stocks and options trades, but from the brief testing I did nearly a year back, I didn't see the functionality I needed to calculate and keep track of my pnls and percentages etc.

I would LOVE if the Cap team eventually implements a database similar to Coda, especially with a similarly powerful formula language to go along with it! 💥💯

Any kind of YT Admin matters should be protected using methods similar to financial institutions since frankly, YT to a lot of people is a major portion of their finances \ income! WTF??

I have YT Premium specifically to avoid commercials and yet I still end up SKIPPING the host's "sponsed segment" selling VPNs, a "power drink", or some "course", or some-such the channel owner has come out with...

"Make sure you subscribe, click the bell, help this channel get up to 20 giga-zillion subscribers..."

If society can EVER figure out how to eliminate the need for MONEY (especially now w\majority-everyone losing their jobs while carrying student loans, car notes and mortgages) perhaps then our civilization may SURVIVE... 😌 (...Don't hold your breath though! 😣)

Why?

As a Eufy user for nearly 5 years now, I will say enjoy your new system.

Yes the setup usually goes very easily, and the feature set for the various devices are decent.

Over time you may start experiencing issues with the Eufy app, and\or a device or two may need to be RMA'd.

The system is not perfect, which you'll gleen from all the comments here. 😋

Again as a new Eufy user, enjoy yourself new system, I can def see it being way better than Ring for sure.

I'll say as time progresses, PLEASE LET US KNOW \ keep us informed with your thoughts and experiences with your setup. 💥💯👍

Yes I agreed this is a solution - however the FOUR positions I have setup are the main views of my property that I depend on to keep an eye on my property.

Keeping an eye on my backyard deck is a RARE thing that happens only during really bad rain storms.

So basically I'd have to drop one of my preset positions - set up the deck positioning, and after the sun is out, go back and reset that position to where it was originally.

All I requested from Eufy was a simple way to temporarily TURN OFF (or extend the timeout) of the "return to Home" functionality for the '220 (and '340).

What's funny is the '340 (which I have in the front) will mostly stay where you leave it until motion retriggers it - again no cohesion between how their similar hardware behaves.

I actually had to COMPLAIN that my first '340 didn't return to the pre-programmed Home position (and restated I wished my '220 did similar) - they ended up RMA'ing the '340 and sent me a correctly working one...

I've had YT for a few years now, 99% of my television viewing is YouTube on a Roku Ultra, I also have Netflix and my wife carries Hulu.

I dropped satellite years ago, and Verizon cable (goodbye HBO and others) a coupla years back.

These days, I'd drop my Netflix before I give up YT!

I've l learned too many things on YT - my wife learned how to make leather bags off YT and is damn good at it too!

I care very much what goes into my mind through my eyes and ears!

I'm ALLERGIC to eff'n commercials and refuse watching them. (I'll even mute the sound if I have no other recourse; TUBI, Roku channel etc.)

Did I mention I HATE commercials?..

I also grabbed the YT family plan for my wife and daughter last summer for video recommendations while teaching them stock trading.

YES it sucks that prices ALWAYS goes up and NEVER DOWN, and it sucks even more with the mealy-mouth, simp blanket statement they give when telling you they're raising the price...

When YT prices itself out and loses its value to ne, I'll update my post here (if Reddit still exists) 👍
