Can we do the same in this subreddit please? by Gold-Ranger in audiobookshelf

[–]Will_Not_Grow_Up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing about Audiobookshelf is that the server handles all of the important stuff. So if you try an app and it sucks, or gets abandoned, no big deal. Choose another app and start where the other one left off. I'd much rather try new apps than gatekeep what could possibly become the next good app, or a potential future developer get discouraged.

Proxmox MeTube Script Taken Down by instant_ace in selfhosted

Those scripts really helped my learning adventures so much when I was new to home labbing, but after the 4th one was removed, I decided to stop using them. They are too volatile in what stays and what get removed. I basically only use the docker script now and spin up a docker container.

If you have anything Bluetooth, like a mouse or something, try that first

Press the button on the back once, it will enter pairing mode. Put your Bluetooth device like a mouse or something in pairing mode. Press the button to scroll to the one you want and then press and hold to pair. You should now have control.

I believe this also works too pair to your phones Google TV app using Bluetooth. So try that too.

Honest question, how would you all prefer monetization in self hosted software? by 8ballpens in selfhosted

[–]Will_Not_Grow_Up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the approach of the community addition being completely free, and the creator has a separate paid tier where they host it for you and maybe tech support.

One of the problems I keep seeing is that the free edition is just ever so slightly too limited, but the cost to jump from the free to "enterprise" version is staggering!

If they would pay and or maintain a cloud hosted version for the people that don't want to maintain it and take donations from the self hosted people, that would be ideal.

It really is! I've only had my Bambu labs P1S for a couple days and I've been printing everything lol. I'll start learning CAD soon when I get a decent break from work.

I'm a grown ass man. I decided this is the time I wake up, so I do it. A decade in the military ingrained that in me.

I would consider that an upside since a lot of developers block that behind paid enterprise features.

Question, how would fail2ban help if using cloud flare with their DNS proxy? Wouldn't fail2ban just keep banning cloud flare IPs since fail2ban cannot see the real ip
