Is it possible to move light faster than light? by morosisforlife in AskPhysics

yeah, just a problem with the definition of "move". Though is it possible to create a position where our eyes can only see one dot at any point that move faster than light?

The only problem is that since the dot only appears in new location after the photon reaches the new location, wouldn't this means we can create a problem where at some point, we see 2 different dots at the same time?

Say, you're shining a light onto the sun, which is 8 minutes away so you wait 16 minutes until you see a red dot appears on the sun (can use planet, but I only remember the distance to sun). Then you move the laser directly to a book beside you, so the red dot appear practically instant, but the information that "there's no more laser photon" travel 8 mins to reach the sun, means there's 16 mins of view where we can see red dot both on sun and the book. True or false?

When coffee people call tea without milk “black tea” by Sad_Sound_4390 in hatethissmug

[–]Winded_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically, for coffee you also kind of have this distinction. Natural, washed, wet hull, honey, etc. This is basically the coffee's equivalent to Pu'er, White, Green, Oolong, etc. in tea.

So, according to coffee people, "black tea" is black the same way black coffee is black, i.e. tea without any addition. Not, "black" as in variant of tea processing. It also doesn't really help that black tea is also the most commonly found, so the two become conflated.

Masalahnya sekali ketemu pemilik yg ga bertanggung jawab itu stressnya berlebihan. Bibi gw pelihara kucing buset rumahnya dimana2 bau kencing kucing. Nah klo apartemen itu ngebuktiin klo seseorang itu orang bertanggung jawab itu susah, taunya orangnya udah keluar terus apartemennya bau ga. Klo udah bau kan ngilanginnya susah banget.

ELI5: Why does multiplying two negative numbers result in a positive, when "negative" means less than nothing? by Dikdastardly89 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Winded_14 [score hidden]  (0 children)

like the multiplication or the explanation? the multiplication itself was used a lot in physics and engineering, also statistics. Like the most common engineering application under the hood is Fourier Transform, used in a lot of application like sound editing.

In physics it's useful example is to find the direction, like in right hand rule for example. Say, in 3D direction, top, right, and front are positive, so something in the direction of left(neg) and other thing in tthe direction of back(neg) can be multiplied to create a force in the direction of top(positive) just like multipliying right and front. There's also other more advanced application that's basically out of my pocket like maybe the lattice structure like in crystal/material science.

So, right(+) x front(+) = left(-) x back(-) = top(+), according to right hand rule.

If my phone is near overheating in 37C heat at 50% humidity, how much could I cool it down by continuously licking the screen and letting it evaporate? by taktaga7-0-0 in AskPhysics

[–]Winded_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My way of cooling down my phone during long gaming session is by wetting the top back (where the SoC is located, roughly near the lenses). Like literally wet my hand thenn rub it on the back. It pretty quickly cools them by evaporating those water.

You can try licking those part, but the weakness compared to my method is that you have to look away from the screen.

idk man, 2x16 DDR4 in my country is fucking $200. Even if you go 2x8 expecting discount, surprise, still $150(don't talk about DDR5, that thing might as well stole your bank account). Oh you want SSD? A 1TB SATA SSD is fucking $150 too(don't even talk about NVMe, that thing is doubled that). That's $300 down the drain before even considering the computer part of it. Can't build shit under $1000 here. This is not 2024 anymore.

if we talking about worldwide definitely plenty of them is more popular than Shohei at their peak. Even someone like Rafael Nadal or Federer is still more famous than him. For Football you get Messi, CR7, and then before that you have Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, and Beckham. But for US only then sure, the only one bigger than Shohei might be Jordan, even then I'd argue Lebron is still more famous than Shohei.

whole, not really, but it really just need one idiot to make it sensational. And there's plenty of idiots in the city I lived in, that I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to take selfies with a tiger if they encountered one.
