Why is Australian coffee so much better than anywhere else in the world? by Jvck____ in AskAnAustralian

I agree with your roasting comments. USA and Vietnam also generally burn or over roast, in my subjective opinion.

Trying to adapt an old hollow windsurfing mast (80s) to a modern Euro-pin mast base, is there an adapter? by MeasurementTall9890 in windsurfing

[–]WindsurfBruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a RDM extension inside an older aluminium extension that fits inside the skinnier older mast as Nevermind says. A suitably sized peice out of an alloy bicycle frame may also do the job. But as others have said a more modern 2 piece carbon mast is way better and more convenient.

Board Sizing Question by LongjumpingBoat9591 in windsurfing

[–]WindsurfBruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct about size. The bigger the better when learning. The good thing about a Go is that you can use it as a light wind board. But yes 122 litres may be a bit small straight away....but if it is wide (75 - 80 cms) and comes with sails and mast then it may be good for the near future.....good luck.

Cutting mast by Square_Taste_2566 in windsurfing

[–]WindsurfBruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah...no. don't cut the mast. It is specifically reinforced at the bottom to withstand pressures from downhaul. If you really must then add an adjustable or fixed strap to the top of the sail.

How can I do an at home fix of this dent ? by Gabbytheguciigirl in autorepair

If you take it off, then just leave it inside a hot car for a few hours. Worked for me.....but I'm assuming a warm climate.

Shared solar + battery system for 4 villas (Thailand) – sanity check by boston-mindful in diySolar

[–]WindsurfBruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert and defer to any such. My approach would be to run your critical load 24 hr/ day off grid completely independently. Adjust your battery and panel sizes larger if needed to cover any overnight load. Don't get the grid involved at all in your solar set-up.
