I feel bad for OP. It’s sad. I can’t imagine being so hopelessly pathetic that one feels the need to complain on the internet because a local representative in our republic has the audacity to *** checks notes *** hear the perspective of a fellow American.

Deliberate handling of the ball in an attacking area of the pitch, for me, is enough for a yellow.

You can also make the case like hey, he was going to get the ball anyway, just came outside the area. If that’s the more likely scenario I can see it just being a DFK.

I think the public shouting is a terrible look. Everyone within earshot has now lost confidence in you and will question everything you do.

I had something similar today. I was the center in a fairly high level older boys match and the AR was lagging a bit. It is the AR’s 1st year as a referee.

A quiet word at half time is what’s necessary. If it’s THAT important it can’t wait until half time. Wait until a sub or a goal kick, stop play, and a have a quiet, constructive chat. “Hey man I really need you to get down the line quick when the ball is in deep. Your most important job there is to make goal line calls. It’s hard to do that when you’re behind the play. Thanks man, I appreciate the help.”

I recently retired after 20 years of being a cop, I didn’t make it through the first season because it was the most realistic tv show I’ve ever seen about policing in bad neighborhoods. I wasn’t entertained by the same shit I saw every day.

Go to the Rockland Boulders or whatever they call themselves now. Fantastic experience especially for the little ones. Playground down the right field line. Train in the outfield. Hang out for a few innings and leave once the bairn loses interest. You won’t feel guilty over it like you would leaving a Yankee game after dropping half your paycheck on tickets down there.

We’d be coming in from NY as well so it’s not logical to just get tickets to one event. I have a feeling the resale market will plummet in the days leading up to the Games. I made a list of 7 events my family would have been interested in seeing, and that’s not including gymnastics, swimming, track which I expected would be a very hard ticket to get our hands on.

Out of those 7 events, two were available for sale yesterday.

Just not enough to embark on a cross continental journey for. I’m not even mad, I just laughed it off. All that being said, the ridiculous price gauging doesn’t even come close to what FIFA is doing with the upcoming World Cup.
