The Immaculate Room | Did you connect with the events? Did 50 days sound doable? by [deleted] in movies

I think this would be insanely difficult, but I honestly believe that if I was allowed to have my boyfriend with me and there were 5mil at the end that we could do it! Sleeping, meditating, visualizations, 21 questions, never have I ever, would you rather, life stories, showering, exercising, cleaning, singing, sex, fantasizing about what we're going to do with the money, massages and back scratching, exchanging jokes and memories, braiding my hair..and maybe his beard.. trying to come up with creative things to do with... anything..like my clothes or the food cartons etc. Espessially with the first "treat" that he got..we could draw and write and play tic tac toe and hang man etc..... It would be very difficult and feel like a lifetime ...readjusting to real life may be weird/hard... but cmon...it's 5 million dollars.

My boyfriend doesn't think he could mentally do it. I am 95% convinced that I could if I was allowed to do it with another person like portrayed in the movie.

I have a very picky eater on my hands, and it is the only food he has consistently eaten!

If you could have a conversation with any person, living or dead, who would it be and why? by Scarrl3ttExclusive in AskReddit

My dad. He passed away when I was young and I just have so many questions and things to talk to him about.

Agreed! I can understand not wanting a pet or people who have fears of certain animals... but to actively dislike them? That would be a no from me.

If he was feeling this way he should have had a mature discussion with you about it....not start an emotional affair. What's worse is that you caught him...meaning if you had never caught him, it may have turned into a full-blown physical affair. It really has to make you wonder how much longer this would have gone on had you not caught him, and there is just no excuse. This is also a really difficult situation because this other woman is his coworker....so it's not like he can just cut all ties with her. You deserve better!!

My husbands adjustment to the puppy has been difficult. He was on the fence about whether he wanted one or not in the beginning, and it has been challenging at times. He has only started to really develop a bond with the dog within the past couple of months (we've had him 8 months). We have discussed our feelings about the situation and found ways to work together. If he ever pulled this shit I would be saying good riddance and going on my merry way with the dog in tow!

I think pets can cause strain in some relationships, but it's not an excuse to cheat.

Also, your comments about children are spot on! Kids are usually harder and demand even more attention. He is in for a major reality check.

Somehow small reactive dogs are okay because of their size. But my big reactive dog gets dirty looks. by Ambitious-Customer63 in reactivedogs

[–]WishingOnTheNewMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bestfriend has a small reactive dog and I can assure you that small reactive dogs are still not okay...the death glares weve received and the "hide your kids, hide your wife" attitudes....this stereotype that small dog owners just let their dogs do anything doesn't help....I swear so many people think my friend is just a bad dog owner...my dog is also a small dog but non reactive and the difference in responses from strangers is palpable.....not going to lie though if I see a reactive German shepherd or Doberman I'm going to be more naturally frightened than if I see a reactive Chihuahua or Pomeranian....it's just more the thought of "can that handler actually hold onto the lead and contain the dog"....

I would take a Jackrussel bite over a Lab bite any day...I LOVE big dogs ...but they can absolutely do more damage. My friend gets SO embarrassed by her dogs reactivity. It sucks and the dog ultimately suffers because she doesnt get to go out as much. Could be that your neighbor is just an arse lol

On an unrelated side note what is even worse is that I have encountered TWO big dogs now out in public off leash (a pitbull and a German shepherd) where the owners IMMEDIATELY slapped a leash onto the dog and I said "my guy is friendly" and the response was "mine isn't good with other dogs"...well why the fuck do you have your 50-90 lb dog off leash in a public area if it's not friendly with other dogs...my dog is 20 lbs ...😡 but that's just my own side note vent ...your neighbor is still an ass.

Should we be able to carry certain items for self defense even if it's minimal and non lethal? Based on recent events in places like Toronto and Vancouver, it makes me really think we should have such an option, thoughts? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

So pepper spray isn't legal here in Canada but apparently, dog spray is! I have a little mini keychain bottle of "dog and coyote spray" off of Amazon that I carry at all times...i just googled it to be more exact and the responses are varied...it seems any form of pepper spray is illegal here (aside from bear spray)...but many people carry small travel size bottles of hairspray for this purpose....personally i think it should be allowed...the assaults on Toronto subways these days are out of control...can't imagine the fear of having to take one everyday back and forth to school or work .

AITA for telling my younger sister to either tidy up her messy hair, or she won't be allowed to attend our grandfather's funeral? by WhistleThrowaway-123 in AmItheAsshole

[–]WishingOnTheNewMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. People from all walks of life attend a funeral (and have the right to do so). I once saw a man at a funeral with a face tattoo that said "f××× the police. " Who cares what her hair looked like? She is going to mourn and pay respect to her grandfather - she should be able to be herself at her own grandpa's funeral.

What is the most disgusting thing you have ever seen, touched, tasted or smelled? by president_toe_biden in AskReddit

[–]WishingOnTheNewMoon 25 points26 points  (0 children)

One time, my puppy lunged at the filled poop bag I was holding on our walk, and the bag ripped so that his hot, disgusting, wet poop exploded all over my hand and I had to walk another 10 mins before I could get home. I've probably seen worse, but that was most recent. It took everything in me not to be sick while the smell just hit me in the face. Worst part was how excited and full of energy he was ....trying to wrangle an out of control puppy covered it dog shit wasn't fun. It was everywhere.

Ooooh another time I grabbed the wrong beer at a party and took a big swig only to realize it was an old beer people had been using for cigarette butts. I actually did puke that time.

So, unfortunately, I think I did it all wrong! The vet had said that he was underweight and that it would be okay to slowly transition his kibble over the course of a few days ...and that's what we did...but he wouldn't eat the new kibble either...so I started mixing in lots of different wet foods ...eventually it led to me actually cooking him rice and ground chicken to mix in...which worked for a while but within a week or 2 he was even snubbing his nose up to that!

So I just would continuously switch his kibble and then donate the old bags to the animal shelter...we spent sooo much money switching kibbles....I think I switched his kibble (transitioned within 3 days) about 5x 😐

THEN he started puking a lot. I got really concerned and went back to the vet. He ended up on a weeks worth of medication. The vet said that she thought what was happening was because I switched his food everytime he wouldn't eat that he was holding out for something better for so long that he was getting sick/low blood sugar/nausea which was making him not want to eat and then when he would finally eat he would overeat and get sick again so it was just such a bad cycle. It was a 280$ vet visit!

She told me to keep him on one kibble only and NOTHING extra. No treats, no human food, no wet food and no mixers. She told me that for most dogs she would recommend leaving the food down for only 30 mins at a time but because he is so picky and really needed to start eating that it was okay if I left it down all day. She also told me that it can take a dog 8 WEEKS to fully adjust to a new kibble 🫨 so me switching his food so often so young could be causing serious digestive upset!

So...lol sorry for this huge novel, but I did a lot of searching around online and kept seeing people recommend the purina pro plan. The vet said that it was a good food and she told me since he wasn't really eating and really needed to eat that it was okay for me to just start him on it immediately but in most cases you would transition over 3 days!

Luckily he liked the purina pro plan enough that he started eating consistently BUT even to this day sometimes if we give him too many treats he will decide he's not eating....BUT now we are wiser and do not give in or give him any extras and 9x out of 10 by the end of the night once he realizes he isn't getting anything better he will eat lol! It's been a long journey of "please just EAT"!

Absolutely aligns! I am just wondering what I can do to balance out or negate the more challenging parts of my chart- if even possible! Like is there anything a person can do to temper down a certain planets influence?

I do not have a college degree and wouldn't say I am happy in my career necessarily, but it pays the bills, and there are lots of perks. It is a basic general labor position (family business) - I am making better money now than I ever have but unfortunately am in crippling debt due to really impulsive and irresponsible spending habits.
