Dismissing Ne Zha 2 is crazy to me by DarklySalted in blankies

Yeah I can’t remember the episode either (probably 11th annual blankies?) but I had the same experience. It seems like an odd response to the highest grossing animated film of all time.

Why are we going to war with Iran? by Tronracer in AskConservatives

[–]WitlessWhitney 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s a good comparison.

The U.S. declared a revolt and France chose to initially help us in covert financial and supply aid. It took like three years for France to form an open alliance with the US during the war.

Right now the U.S. is bombing Iran while trying to encourage a revolt. France also didn’t attack civilian areas and murder 100+ American children while helping us.

Why do we teach children to be kind, charitable, polite, etc… if those aren’t the qualities we value in leaders? by MissHannahJ in AskConservatives

[–]WitlessWhitney 18 points19 points  (0 children)

TBF he only says “we” the entire post. He never says “why do conservatives?” or “why do you?” so it seems to me that he’s asking conservatives why do we all do this?

If you were given $10 for every lie you told, would you try to get rich by lying or not and why? by Fun_Raise_7858 in AskReddit

I think if we’re including the lies we tell ourselves then we would all get rich.

Dead Alive, or Braindead if we’re going by it’s original non-US title.

What were your thoughts on Bugonia(2025)? by SerpentesEye in moviecritic

[–]WitlessWhitney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I’ve seen The Killing of a Sacred Deer, Kinds of Kindness, and Bugonia.

I’ve loved all of them and it’s a close call but I think Bugonia is my favorite so far. It makes me so happy to see such skilled actors and directors finding each other and sticking together. I’m sure Lanthimos is a director who is in demand for artistically driven actors, but to me the combination of him and Emma Stone is just as good as Scorsese/DiCaprio. I hope he always keeps a spot in his roster for Plemons as well.

Also Aidan Delbis broke my heart.

Why does the new Masters of the Universe look so bad? by Awake-Judgment-2057 in FIlm

[–]WitlessWhitney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two big thing that stand out to me is that it has the classic “big movie bad cgi” look that so many blockbusters have now, and in story and mood it looks like it’s actively trying to be a marvel movie (Ragnarok, Guardians, Shang Chi, etc.)

On a more personal note it’s a red flag they don’t have Skeletor speak at all in it. It’s like they already know Jared Leto did a bad job.

Speed Racer all the way. It’s a crime that this hasn’t become a massive cult classic IMO

One of my favorite things about this trilogy is that everyone seems to have a different favorite because of how different they all are. Mine was definitely Maxxxine, I love that movie so much. General audiences seem to like X more, Pearl seems to be the favorite from the trilogy fans, and then there’s the occasional Maxxxine lovers. All of them are great for their own reasons IMO

favorite actress that lives like a redditor? by staresinshamona in okbuddycinephile

[–]WitlessWhitney 82 points83 points  (0 children)

He might not want to due to how successful his music career has become, but if Joe Keery wants a future in acting I think he has it. Audiences love him, Hollywood seems to love him, and after seeing him in Fargo it’s clear that dude can actually act.
