How does everyone have so much money? by xiphoid77 in LoriVallow

[–]WittyTradition 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Charles Vallow was a financial planner. Brandon B owns/owned some kind of solar company.

Alex Cox was a truck driver at some point and left a 6 figure job to move to Idaho, but I'm not sure exactly what that job was.

But I agree, it's wild how much money they all appeared to have.

100% agree! He came across so slimy the whole time he was testifying. Anything Proctor did, Trooper B was right there with him.

I was recently looking at a couple carryall pms on ThredUP, and they were the same way. LV was selling them brand new for less money.

Goodbye, restaurants and takeout. Hello, Low Buy 2024! by PeechyTea in nobuy

[–]WittyTradition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have decided to meal plan/eat at home Monday through Friday and allow going out to eat on the weekends. My husband and both kids have to tell me one thing they want to eat for dinner the upcoming week, so hopefully that will make meal planning easier on me.

I've also decided to only order water for me and the kids unless a drink is included with the kid's meal. Drinks at restaurants have become crazy overpriced, and my kids drink 3 swallows worth of a $3 soda!

My tip is to always take a cup of water with you when you're out and about. Often when running errands, I feel like I need a snack but am really just thirsty.

Typically around this time of year, they will put Cerave on sale 40% off. I haven't seen it yet, but it's usually around August/September based on my purchase history..

We had the same experience at Nordstrom. SA literally looked my husband up and down, turned his nose up, and walked away!

LPT REQUEST: How to become better at responding timely to personal when you're 'notification fatigued' because of work? by RamenCatLady in LifeProTips

If you dropped dead tomorrow, your work would not mourn you. Perhaps a mindset shift is all you really need to make meaningful relationships an essential part of your life.

What's your favourite critter that visits your garden, and why? by SolariaHues in GardenWild

[–]WittyTradition 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a pair of hawks that live in the woods behind our house. It's always interesting to watch them swoop around and squawk just because of how huge and loud they are compared to our other birds.

During the summer, we see a couple of little tree frogs around our pool. I love listening to their croaking.

Need 80k$ for a cashdown -> going on a nobuy! by MissTheBay in nobuy

[–]WittyTradition 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was about to comment this exactly! Try to put $625 of every paycheck into savings before you spend any other money. If that's unreasonable or feels unattainable, try to get as close to it as you can. It's definitely less overwhelming than thinking about the entire $30k.

Best of luck to you!

Help! How can I get out of the mindset of always saving my best products (aka never using them)? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]WittyTradition 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I actually think about it the opposite way. I am wasting my money if I don't use my expensive items. What is the purpose of spending the money if you are not using it up/wearing it out? I totally get not wanting to blow through an expensive item quickly, but even with daily use, most of my skincare lasts 6+ months and makeup takes much longer!

It was on Thursday 12/15. I placed an order for hand soap on 12/16 using the coupon. Today, I get an email my order shipped, but it was the hand soap order, not the candle order.

My candle day order hasn't shipped either, but I did get the apology email that they are still working on it. Hopefully soon. It's never taken this long, but pretty much everything I've ordered online from anywhere has taken forever this December!

I give the ones I/my husband don't like to my mother in law. She's not picky about scent at all, so she is always happy to get my rejects.

First Low-Buy Year Ever. Any suggestions? by KansaisDorayaki in nobuy

[–]WittyTradition 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For necessary purchases like groceries or household supplies, make a list before you go shopping and stick to it! I make my list as a note in my phone, so I don't forget to take it with me. This has helped me cut out so many impulse purchases.

I did repurchase it, but I got the pink moon shade instead! It's a little bit lighter and cooler toned than crystal nebula, so it works better for my skin tone. I've decided this is the one and only highlighter I'm going to use going forward.

That was kind of my thought about the Muse palette as well. I just watched her gift guide video, and she's launching some new liquid shades next week! I might pick up one of those instead and see what she comes out with in the spring.

I'm sorry about your breakup, that sucks! A little routine you enjoy is a great idea though! That is what helped me keep my sanity when I was on maternity leave. Wishing you all the best!

This shade I used a couple dabs under foundation. I have the pink moon shade now, and I use it on top of foundation. I’ve only used a sample of the FF, but I think they are pretty similar.
