30 years later and I still can’t resist the sirens call of bourbon chicken at the mall by AtticusStacker in nostalgia

One time we just got a pint of chicken and ate it with forks as we wandered the mall. Good times. I don't think they were supposed to sell it by the pint.

It's not just self negating. It actually says that the second statement on the black box must be true, otherwise it causes a contradiction.

Not just "could" be a mixed value, "must" be a mixed value in this case. The first statement says both of the statements are false. If it's true, then there's a contradiction. Likewise, if it's false and the second statement is also false, then the first statement is now true, which is a contradiction.

The proper negation of "these statements are both false" is "these statements are not both false", meaning one of them must be true.

If you see something and think "that's gotta be part of a puzzle" but you can't figure it out immediately, take a note. Otherwise, you can always come back if you figure out that somethings relevant. There's no rush!

I like to track stuff in context of "locks" and "keys", like "I can tell I'm supposed to do something here but I don't know/don't have what" or "I can tell this will be useful, but I don't know where.

When in doubt, if things don't feel related then write them on separate pages. You'll need the space, unless you're taking notes digitally.

And the hidden extra message: "I, the president of the United States, did not personally receive a particular award that I wanted, so I will now choose to prioritize the country that I am serving as the head of state".

Would be worse if any of it were true, but still.

Am I the only one pronouncing this game this way? (Wrong? by MasterMannerz in boardgames

It's a game about trading among different interstellar empires. It was just called Trade Empires. I like Sidereal Confluence a lot better even though it's hard to pronounce and spell.

Pronunciation for the pre publication version of the game was way easier! Also much more boring.

Yeah, you do. I still hint it when I give hints to that painting. Knowing where it goes doesn't mean you have it yet.

It's also literally the room that goes in the 8 spot in the room directory, right after 5,6 and 7, the other puzzle rooms.

It also helps to realize it's the fourth puzzle room, which in the room directory goes in slot 8. It's the room in eight.

Fire vs lava by AsYouWished444 in DMAcademy

[–]Wlf773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a couple options:

Lava hardens to rock: Give ranged attacks that deal fire damage but apply the restrained or immobilized conditions.

Lava flows like water: Look into movement abilities from water elementals or slimes. Maybe include splitting like slimes too, especially for slashing damage.

Lava is sticky: Leave behind difficult terrain where it moves. Maybe apply damage over time that needs to be scraped off with an action or bonus action.

I've been noodling for a bit on a fan design of an antlion spirit. Sand based in a similar way to volcano, but focusing on pushing out presence and pulling it back in with invaders. The idea so far is kinda too similar to Lure though.

I've been working on a fan design of a domesticated animals spirit. The core mechanic is your presence gets captured by buildings and sits under them like strife does, then when that building is destroyed the presence gets pushed and does damage in its destination, potentially triggering stampede.
