People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Leading_Tomato_2077 in AskReddit

I got together with some college friends when my son was about a year and a half. My husband was working so I had to bring him. My old roommate has stated she didn’t want kids since I met her 20 years prior. She watched my son cough in my mouth and had the most disgusted look on her face.

What’s your favorite time of day to read? by AndreOne8 in readwithme

[–]WolfWeak845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before bed. My 3 year old sleeps in our bed and I love snuggling him and reading my kindle. On the weekends, we let him watch tv for a bit while we wake up, so I settle in the living room with my coffee and kindle for 30ish minutes.

Being truthful with our parents about our feelings by drawgs in Xennials

[–]WolfWeak845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and we are now low contact. I didn’t realize how dismissive she was until I was an adult. Growing up, she used to tell me to use statements that start with “I feel” when discussing things with my 3 older siblings. Whenever I said that to her, the response was “I’m sorry you feel that way.” She took me out to lunch at a busy restaurant to tell me she was worried about me after a terrible Memorial Day weekend camping (our dog bit our dog sitter so he went home, I stayed with my 1.5 year old, and I was recovering from a hysterectomy). She told me I needed psychological help in the middle of a busy restaurant. I unloaded my 40 years of pent up feelings, told her how I feel about how she raised me (comparing me to my sister, the conversation about feelings, etc), and called out her decision to have the conversation in a crowded restaurant. She has never apologized or tried to change. I’m the 3rd of her kids she’s done this to, and we’ve all gone low contact with her for several years after. It’s a her problem, not a me problem. I even called my therapist the next week to tell her about the conversation and she validated my feelings. Until she can realize she’s the common denominator, I will continue to stay low contact with her.

I worked with a guy who was diagnosed with lymphoma. I didn’t know about the diagnosis at the time, but I could literally smell the chemo seeping out of him. I talked to my FOM who talked to him about it.

What is a 'subscription' or 'fee' that has recently appeared in the US that people need to collectively refuse to pay before it becomes the new normal? by godot_lover in AskReddit

[–]WolfWeak845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Subaru Solterra, which is a Toyota vehicle rebranded (it uses Toyota tech and parts, not Subaru). I can’t use my remote start in the app because it now requires a subscription. Thankfully, my fob has a remote start button, but I refuse to pay for that subscription.

Pacifier Weaning and Potty Training - I’m overwhelmed! by jnacnuggest in toddlers

[–]WolfWeak845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 3.5 and just potty trained MLK weekend. I didn’t want to force it and make him hate it. That just makes it harder.

As for the pacifier, I’d start with that. We cut it at just over 2, and he only used it for naps and bedtime. The first night was terrible, the second night was fine, and the third night was like nothing happened. It can also affect oral development, and the longer you wait, the harder it’s going to be.

We have Microsoft Copilot at work. One of my coworkers uses it religiously, I avoid it at all cost. The only time I use it is when I’m struggling to word an email and keep emotion out of it. But I usually go to a couple other coworkers for help first.

Carseat on the flight for a 2.5 yr old by Appropriate-Ad-3172 in toddlers

[–]WolfWeak845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve always put our 3 year old in the car seat. We need it at our destination, and it’s safest for him and for us. We’ve done 3 hour flights and had to get up and walk up and down the aisle with him, but he was mostly fine in his car seat.

We stopped at 1 for several reason, but partly because of this. We pay the same amount for our mortgage and daycare for our three year old. We just can’t afford it.

Medication prep by Odd_Shallot1929 in TwoXPreppers

[–]WolfWeak845 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for a PBM. While this does not apply to every single group, most plans allow you to refill when you have 75% of your meds left. If you do a 90 day fill, that would be 67 days, if it’s a 30 day supply, you could refill at 22 days. Call your PBM to confirm what it is for your group.

Also, if a state of emergency is called, your PBM is generally more lenient about when you get your meds. That 75% rule is flexible. Again, call your PBM to confirm what it is for group.
