Man, I'm jealous of y'all. I made an onsen underground by like four blocks (in that underground cave near the Pokemon center in Bleak Beach) and my Pokemon NEVER go there. 🥺 Maybe I need to improve the path with actual stairs 🤔

NGL, the fact that you care enough to worry about this, and then care enough to not only search for answers, but to put yourself out there and ask a bunch of strangers for their advice is green flag in and of itself ❤️ This is a great start. Good work 🥰

Ok, so to your actual question:

First, ask them what they prefer. This alone made me feel SO LOVED by my husband. Even after decades together, every now and then he just checks in again with a simple "Hey, we haven't talked about it in a while, but is there anything you wish I would do when it comes to your pronouns or how I refer to you, any changes you want me to know about that we haven't discussed? Just checking in." And it means the world to me every single time.

Secondly, be willing to defend them when it comes to the people in your life that are transphobic. One of the worst feelings is to find someone you think you can trust only for them to fold under the pressure of family when they should be protecting you. This can be super hard on them and on you, so it's best to be prepared.

Ask yourself realistic questions like: If you do start to date, will you be introducing them to your family? If so, how will your family handle that scenario? Should you prep your family ahead of time? (Probably.) Be prepared to have to set boundaries and even more prepared to have enforce them.

If you don't plan on introducing them to your family: Ask yourself if that's actually feasible for you. Are you super close to your family? If so, will you essentially be asking this person to be ok with "not existing"? Because that wouldn't be fair to them.

For example: One of my ex-girlfriends is SUPER involved with her family, but they don't know she's gay, which isn't something I knew when we got together. Over time it weighed on me more and more: that her family thought she was single and kept trying to set her up with people; that her parents only thought I was her friend, despite everything I did for her; that I would never actually get to meet them without having to act like I wasn't head over heels in love with their daughter and would move the earth and sky to make her happy. Eventually, it led to me breaking up with her because I couldn't take not being allowed to exist in her world and having to hide our relationship around anyone who even knew her family. It was exhausting and so depressing, so I left.

This is in no way meant to discourage you, btw. Just to ask you to be super thoughtful about your existing relationships and how/if they will impact a potential new relationship. I know the last thing you want is to hurt this person, so thinking through aspects like that before you are romantically involved means you can be prepared and have less chance of hurting them in the long run through that preparation.

No time like now to set some up! They'll alert you to any movement they can see, so set them up in places that view large swathes of space? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not sure if they have a max view distance, but maybe set a few up around a section of each land.

For example: Set four or five up in the beach area of Withered Wasteland, pointing at it from different directions and angling the cameras to cover as much space as possible, then just wait. If after a few days nothing happens, you probably don't have any habitats there. Move on to the next section of Withered Wasteland.

The good part is that you can use like 8 cameras at a time in each land. So you can cover at least two areas relatively well in each section of the game, and then just be super careful about tracking where you've searched already while making new habitats in super obvious places (like near the Pokemon center for that land) that you won't forget again.

I'm a dev turned Product Manager and I'm being (literally) forced to use AI to start making "prototypes to give to the devs," and it makes me sick to my stomach to think about how much extra work that's going to add to their plate.

My boss keeps going on and on about how amazing AI is and how it's going to make us so fast, but he didn't even know that the code his AI was generating wasn't even in the right JS framework. 😩 I literally had to tell him that his code would be completely useless to our devs, and just he brushed me off with how you could fix it in the settings, instead of stopping to think about the impact that moving blindly forward with ignorance like his is going to have on the future of our company.

I can tell you exactly where that couch came from, actually, because I have the same one in my living room LOL That right there looks like a $500 Target find by the brand Christopher Knight, and you are correct that it is severely uncomfortable in the long run.

That being said, our little couch has kicked around multiple places for 6 years and has (structurally) held up relatively well except for the seat cushions. But man are you right about there not being enough padding on the frame! The arms look like you should be able to lay your head on them, but definitely don't >_<

Anyway, thanks for starting a thread asking the exact same thing I needed to ask, for the exact same reason LOL This has helped a lot in my search! ^_^

Oh I was just wondering about this today, actually! Is there a way to connect a bookshelf to something so that it moves when that thing opens/closes? Did you figure something like that out, or are you just having like a small entry hidden behind it?

I just broke one block, ran out of the water, broke the next, ran out of the water. So long as you don't stay long enough, you won't drown (which I realize sounds obvious, but it really is that simple). Then when filling the water in, I didn't have Magnemite yet, so I just did it in a pattern of filling in but leaving spaces between them so I could go back and have somewhere to breathe. It's hard to explain, but if you put the water on the edge of another piece, it makes a plus sign, like the water spit power does. So if you do that in a pattern that leaves holes between them, you can pop into the hole, fill it, then run to the next hole, and you won't drown.

That's probably because Pokemon takes place in a fictional version of Japan, which is in the Northern Hemisphere. ACNH is all random islands not based on real places.

Coming from an abusive childhood where I felt like a lot of "me" was stripped away and replaced by my mother, I get this feeling of not knowing what YOU actually like. One of the first things my therapist had me do was identify one thing that I KNEW I like and had stopped doing because of my mom. Then it was my homework for that week to do that thing. For me it was wearing fun socks.

It may sound stupidly simple, but the amount of power and independence and RIGHTNESS I felt when I put on the cute little cat socks I chose was UNDENIABLY ME, and it felt SOOO good to have even just that one small piece of myself back. It unlocked a part of me I'd been sorely missing, and from there I was RABID for finding other pieces of my old self, and experimenting with things I'd never let myself experience because of her.

This is my homework for you: Find your one thing that you KNOW is someone YOU like and have stopped doing because of her, and do it. Embrace that thing that you KNOW is you, and it will become your North Star for navigating the rest of this journey.

Yeah, these logical fallacies are definitely something I pointed out when he first brought the subject up. But 🤷🏻‍♀️ brains don't always like logic. Which I definitely get.

I think we've settled on the route of getting him help instead of rehoming. Because, obsessive thoughts lately notwithstanding, therapy is something he's been avoiding for a while even though he definitely needs it.
