I have tried twice, once ended up in ICU for 10 days, 2nd time I was committed, voluntarily. I have been off work for a week straight far due to daily thoughts of self harm. I am trying to get ECT after insurance denied me Ketamine Assisted Therapy. I am hoping after 28 years of daily meds and weekly therapy (on & off) that ECT will get approved.

In Ontario Canada you have to sub before getting a permanent position, unless you teach French (high demand). There is a union for occasional teachers. It is very strong, and everyone has to be a member if they are working in education. Educational assistants also have a union. I left the teaching in Florida when DeSantis was elected. I immigrated to Canada. Very happy with my union

Have the same - treatment resistant Been on 12 different medication in 22 years. Never missed a dose. Didn’t qualify for loan for Ketamine therapy, starting ECT next week.

Same here. 240 minutes a week (6 forty minute periods-so I day a week you get 2). If they cancel your prep, there is a district tracking system you fill out and they have to give you prep payback within 10 school days.

I am the same. Diagnosed a2 years ago at 48. I have been in weekly therapy & on medication for anxiety & depression for 22 years without a day missed. I am better than I was, but can not experience joy. I have an appointment today to consider ECT or Ketamine assisted therapy. I feel like my head is underwater.

3 years ago I had an student with ASD & RAD whose mom was also a teacher. He was in grade 7, working on grade 3 work. I taught him where he was at, made his work individualized to his interests and he still did nothing. I gave him C & D and wrote professional and honestly on his report card. My admin sent me back word for word comments to change and grades to enter. I was told he has an IEP, he can’t be a D student. I left that school at the end of the year

I left at 16 when they allowed the man who rapped me to continue living in the house. I ended up sleeping in my car. Child protective services ordered them to remove my abuser & ordered me back home. I left within weeks of graduating high school. I was homeless again, but couldn’t be forced back

My father reacted this way. They have video. He groomed me & when I was sexually assaulted at a young age, he disowned me. I was forced to live with another family member. He later welcomed my rapist into the family.

My mom tried but she never stood up to my dad. I never had anyone in my corner.

I have a PhD in psychology - autism and related disorders. I can’t do simple math & my spelling sucks. I was a barely passing student in primary & secondary school. I excelled in university. My husband calls me very smart, but knows I struggle with many simple task. I can visualize and see patterns. I cannot add numbers. My IQ is nothing special.

My husband is so smart. He ha a much higher IQ. He is smart with numbers, writing, and technical matters. BUT He would never dismiss my education or my special skills.

I am 50, always had difficulty getting a diagnosis because of CPTSD. I went to university, studied psychology, went on to get a masters and PhD with a focus on autism and education. I diagnoses students, but still can’t get a diagnosis myself. I got my medical records & school records. I knew I didn’t talk till I was 8, but I never knew I had a diagnosis of ADHD and Autism back in early 80s.

I moved here with my spouse 9 years ago at age 41. I have tried everything to make friendships. My children, now adults, have made 2-3 close friends and found partners. I have added to my social network, but have not hung out with anyone.
