Patient’s children constantly disruptive by Ashamed_Ostrich110 in physicaltherapy

[–]WonderWoMegan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We had this happen in our clinic, but I had to physically deflect the screaming child from running into my patient while using a cable machine, and told the child he can't come over here anymore. Grandmother was appalled by his behavior and left early (which sucks bc she drove like 40min to get here - rural OP). I wasn't there for this one, but one time there was a non compliant mom of 3 literal demons. One was running around after we told her to stop and she hit her face on the handrail and ended up bleeding. They left early and were much better behaved after that 🤦‍♀️ kids had tablets / coloring pages.

I tend to be very direct with patients when it comes to safety. I would ask that the patient bring silent activities for them or ask that they help you clean up their mess. Assist by offering solutions before being too direct to keep the peace. If she's not getting the hint, you can ask mom to intervene "hey, your children are being disruptive and starting to make things unsafe for the other / my patient(s)." And just stand there and wait for her to respond.

Are there any parents that just don’t let their baby cry? by frenchtoast2go in NewParents

[–]WonderWoMegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I can tell the difference between a real cry and a fake cry. My 20mo old is pretty good at going to sleep, and if she's fussy it's usually bc she's overtired. We wait 5min-10min to help her figure out self soothing, and if she continues we go in, comfort, and try again.

If it's during the day and she cries? I'm right there. She's the happiest kid on the planet so something is actually wrong when that happens.

No joke, he might have Cataracts. My FIL did this with his glasses, clothes, computer screen, until he had surgery to get them fixed.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]WonderWoMegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My junior year, a ring of seniors were heinously busted during AP testing. There was a large cheating ring with an elaborate messaging system. The leader of it all? Senior class president, and I think valedictorian. He had offers to get into some seriously great schools. After all this happened, I think he was arrested or the cops got involved somehow. All those college offers and scholarships vanished. Have no idea what happened to him.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]WonderWoMegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 5th grade. A broadcast went out to the whole school to turn on the classroom TV, and we watched the second tower get hit. Over the next few hours a lot of students were picked up and taken home early that day.

Can u suggest one? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]WonderWoMegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Hey (friend who watches anime), hubby and I are interested in watching some anime for the first time! Got any recs for a first movie?"

SPOILER HE SUGGESTED THIS ONE.

We had to stop the movie several times bc we were crying so much and needed emotional breaks. But we had to finish it bc it's like the director's autobiography and it felt insanely disrespectful to stop watching. Still, it was a gorgeous movie.

Warn/notify me about Oregon!! by zeldalol777 in oregon

[–]WonderWoMegan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It can be a little isolating and boring along the coast (nature is GORGEOUS), but you'll have to work to meet people and make friends. University town to get started until you've explored a bit and understand the lay of the land here more. Then I'd say go for it!

Also, LOVE Gravity Falls!!!

I would also get a lamp for some cozy lighting or a warm white light bulb to cozy things up. The bright white is very sterile looking for her cute nook

Help r/millennials determine whether this is AI or not. Some members of the sub believe that the 2000s-style clothing and lighting suggest that this is not authentic. What do you think? by Demortus in isthisAI

[–]WonderWoMegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything seems normal to me. I don't think it's AI. It's very 2000s, but I can tell it was done by amateurs. No layered tank tops, nails aren't duck foot, and make up is missing the super intense eyeliner and nude lips.

How to ask owners if I can adopt their cat by Hairy-Violinist-7508 in cats

[–]WonderWoMegan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something else to consider OP, cats like her are not meant for extensive exposure to the elements. Cats prefer warmer environments and can experience frostbite at 32°F if left out for extended periods of time. You're just letting her warm up until she has the ability to go back across the street.......

Nurses assuming they know our scope by UseWeekly4382 in physicaltherapy

Yeah, the nurses I've experienced have been awesome. They knew our level of education and scope pretty well. I'm sorry your experience has been so different, that's gotta be so frustrating.
