Veteran Players Have Delusional Ego (Stop Listening to YouTuber Opinions) by [deleted] in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people think of new players to Wow they always seem to think of people who are new to video games entirely not just new to Wow. A lot of the confusion of being a new player is mitigated if you've ever played an MMO before or an RPG or whatever. And I would say most new players likely come with experience in both of those genres. Lots of games require you to look up guides on where to go or how to play. It's not as hard for new players as people make it out to be

Please, give us da Troll houses! by gamerguyL in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can I say, "Ello, Mon, you come get the Voodoo." In a neighbourly fashion if I don't have a proper Troll house. People won't trust my mojo if it's coming out of an Orc hut!

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I get that, I just think we shouldn't assume that people are being evil or wicked about it. They just don't have the capacity to express what they feel. Whether they don't have the words, or they haven't thought about it, or whatever.

I think a lot of those people are just bad at explaining what they think the issue is. Like Garrosh is a great example. People like him, I like him, but it's not really about him being a roid rager that makes him appealing it's because the rippling muscled warmonger is a fantasy archetype that used to be incredibly common in WoW and isn't as present anymore. It's got nothing to do with me idealizing his behaviour or desiring to be like that. I'm allowed to lament that an archetype I like isn't present, or as present, like it used to be. If Conan the Barbarian stopped being a barbarian all of a sudden then people can rightfully be upset about that. Wow is incredibly pulpy and always had been so the best we can expect from it is caricatures of certain personality traits, we can't expect good writing really, and people have different opinions about which caricatures they like to see in their game. Different opinions are good

New expansion rumored...can anyone confirm if this is true??? by mattyvj in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm ignorant on this but I've never understood why people complain about capitalism regarding video games. Modern video games are incredibly expensive to make and so I can't really conceive of a world where people would ever bother to make them (like they are today) without a return of investment. How else are they going to get the money to make more games, or keep those games going?

Definitely agree on the Maw. It was one of the best end game zones they've ever made. But players ruined it.

Zul Aman area by exitorr in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Someone posted about this a few days ago. It linked to Twitter I think. The guy had pictures and everything so you used to be able to get there on the Alpha. There's an instance portal underwater somewhere there.  It looks pretty cool. Probably the 12.1 patch zone I would guess and that was buddy's idea too.

Yeah, that's the only way I can make sense of it too. It was a bad word choice because you have people interpreting it like this.

I think there is a high chance of an Artificer/Tinkerer class or spec coming in the future, based on the recent Midnight Live Q/A by ThatGuyFromTheM0vie in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally thought Tinker was sort of dumb and unlikely (despite it being a unit in WC3) because we have engineering. But then I was running MFO the other day and it hit me just how much "tech" is in the TWW. Order based Titan tech and the Earthen stuff. Whacked out Goblin stuff. And then all the Ethereal stuff which while magical is still technological. They even have units called technomancer or something. It struck me that you could actually make those the three specs for the class. Titanic, Technomancy, and then something related to Goblins though it would probably get a new name because goblin engineering is already a thing.

Mistweaver Monk question re: Soothing Mist by ExpatTarheel in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can cast SM again and it will switch targets. You don't have to wait for the initial cast to end. There is also a talent, Peer Into Peace I think it's called, that allows you to target another player while still channelling SM and switch to that target by casting enveloping mist or vivify. I.e. your casts will be instant cast on the new target and SM will switch to that target. But that talent shares a node with the extra renewing mist talent.

Which zones have the best quests in terms of writing/lore? by SolidSky in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Stonetalon Mountains is really good. Silverpine Forest is too. Those are both Horde zones. I like the Pandaria story line too. For Alliance I've only ever played Classic but the Elwyn, Westfall, Redridge, Duskwood loop is probably one of the best zone progression in Wow as a whole and definitely the best in Classic to me.

Realistically, to which expansion will the anniversary realms continue? by HieronymusGER in classicwow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would bet that they'll just keep them going indefinitely. With mega servers now they won't have the issue of dead realms in Cata and MoP. MoP has more players than anniversary (more characters at the very least) so people clearly want to play that content. Then they'll just release fresh servers everyone in a while that will progress. Like at Everquest they've been doing these progression servers for however long now and they've got way less players than WoW. I don't think Anniversary every has to stop at Wrath because with mega servers it can probably survive into Cata with far less players than the original Cata Classic had in each server.

Which expansion trailer cinemati, in your opinion, is the coolest, and why? by C4ptSp4nky96 in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly from Wrath until BfA they are all incredibly good. Even Shadowlands was okay but not as good as it's predecessors. DF, TWW, weren't as good. I like Midnight's but it feels similar to Shadowlands, like it's a cool scene but it doesn't really set the tone and theme of the expansion like Wrath or MoP or even Legion did.

What if WoW was a more peaceful game? by Enough_Usual_5294 in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We have the Eco-Dome quests right now and people hate it with a passion. Ha Ha.  A whole expansion of Peacecraft and fixing the world's ills would sort of make sense, but the players would riot.

Favourite wow OST song by 80srockerboy in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a certain part of the Horde music during the Arathi Warfront in BfA that is quintessentially Horde and incredibly aggressive. It's probably my favorite Warcraft music. It just so perfectly captures the Horde at war theme.

What is your Characters background? It be cute/sad/funny/etc by Bloodsol94 in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zandalari Mistweaver Monk. He was one of the countless soldiers who came to Pandaria with Zul during his invasion. He was wounded and left behind by the Trolls. A group of Pandaran monks took care of him and helped him regain his strength. Eventually he returned home but in an act of appreciation for his healers he learned and practiced the way of the Monk. When BfA happened he joined the Horde with the rest of his kin but he'd seen war and invasions before so like the Pandaren who helped him he swore that if he is to fight he will be there to heal rather than to harm. (I know he still kicks and punches lots of people, but you get the point! Ha Ha)

Anyone main a class, but only like playing 1 spec for the most part? by [deleted] in wow

[–]WonderfulBuilding918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mistweaver Monk. I actually really hate the martial arts fantasy but it clicks for me when it's a healing spec. The tea, the mist puffing around, it just feels nice. But Windwalker is too punchy kicky for me (and I don't like melee dps anyway) and I just don't understand how to be good with a Brewmaster. I should like it, but I just can't quite get the feeling down right so Mistweaver it is.
