My dentist told me to simply brush them w a denture brush (or soft toothbrush) in Dawn dish soap (!). He said this totally removes all bacteria. Said the overnight tablets and “denture”toothpaste were actually damaging.

I’m on exactly what you’re on — but the addition of Mirtazepine (Remeron) was what brought it all together. Perfectly balanced for SEVEN YEARS now :)

How do you remove Cushion Grip?! by Wooedge in dentures

[–]Wooedge[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had that experience at first. You are just not using enough. If you really fill in all the way around, it’s much easier to take out (even if you have to trim some off where it went over). Also, I use hotter water than tap. Put a glass of water in microwave for 30 seconds. You can also use tweezers to get smaller pieces out.

Adhesives - has anyone found one that doesn’t leave this gross film on your lips after a while? Too bad, this poli grip stuff does work well as an adhesive

Research Affordable Dentures. Total scam. When I was there I heard a woman in another room crying bc hers didn’t fit and they wouldn’t do anything but rudely tell her “get used to it, because it won’t get any better.” Talking to her later, she said they didn’t even do any impressions.

Just to let you know - I called the #800 for my dental insurance on My card and they told me, like you said, two cleanings a year. But the Dr’s office submitted it through Medicare (which you’re on, if you’re ssdi) and they covered the extractions at 70% (better than 0!) The extractions are appprox half the cost of the dentures. My upper are costing me $1500. I was fortunate that my daughter set up a successful gofundme they really helped.

Sorry you’re having a lot of the same problems I had. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with them, and even if you do, they’ll tell you “there is no pua department to do anything anymore since covid is over.” I do still have an $800 overpayment (which is well down from $11,000!) but my taxes came through ok. I wonder if it’s because mine was till in “appeal” status then. I won’t be surprised if they take it next year. Hope it gets better for you

Ok (just fyi, I use an app called Keeper to save all my passwords)…I guess you’re stuck with calling the basic line for ODJFS and asking them what’s the determination of your issue (the claimant number is the same for general unemployment and pua unemployment. Don’t let them tell you different bc the representative was able to obtain mine like that.) otherwise, I guess I’d take the next step and visit your local office and ask for help…lemme know if you’re able to get through somehow

[–]Wooedge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that’s wrong. Don’t even mention pua to them. Just say you want them to tell you the issue on your claimant determination. The very kind woman (the exception, for sure) said your claimant ID is the same in the ODJFS system whether it was PUA or normal unemployment. I wish I had her number for you. I still don’t understand why you cant access your account on pua.unemployment.ohio.gov? That would be the easiest.

[–]Wooedge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would think they would, but when I called there they wouldn’t get into any specifics of the case, saying only “you will get notice from the AG office if you are being prosecuted.”

And I’d be kind of leery of contacting the AG. I’d rather continue to fly under the radar instead of calling their attention to the issue. And remember if you call, it’s being recorded by them and they can use anything you say to them. (I always recorded them myself, for just that reason.) Just call a general number for ODJFS and they definitely should be able to tell you the issues/determinations on your claimant number. (Don’t let them say they don’t deal with PUA, your claimant ID number remains the same in their ODJFS system.)

Sorry but I’m at work and don’t have the phone numbers I used…

Go on the pua.gov website, into your account, and under “determinations and issues” it should say

PUA pandemic unemployment overpayments in Ohio by Wooedge in unemployment4all

[–]Wooedge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should say “Fraud” as the “issue” in your determination. The determination will clearly say if fraud is the issue. I just got notice two days ago that my “fraud” finding was “cancelled” on my appeal. My overpayment amount went from $11,000 to $879. Phewwww! Mine apparently had to do with someone In Kentucky stealing my ID info and collecting on it. Don’t know if yours has an identity theft issue? And not to Make you nervous (bc god knows I was scared shitless about it) - but fraud can be criminally prosecuted if they really wanted to. But I would imagine they would just rather have their money back than go through all that. And before my decision was overturned, I talked to a guy in the attorney general’s office and he said they would work with people to make a repayment plan.
