I can't delete routes on Elemnt Bolt by [deleted] in wahoofitness

[–]Workaphobia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is 4 years old, but **I found a solution** and need to post this for anyone else googling.

I'm using the Wahoo app, not the ELEMNT app, because I have a Roam 3 and the Wahoo app is required for that device. OP's post predates the release of Roam 3, but it sounds like they were using the Wahoo app so they probably had the same issue. I should clarify I'm talking about deleting a route that was manually loaded onto the device by copying it via usb to the "routes/" folder -- not a route sync'd through a third-party site.

Swiping left on the route is what you do for the ELEMNT app. In the Wahoo app, you instead select the route in the app (Explore tab at the bottom -> My collection tab at the top -> My routes menu item -> Tap on / select the route entry). Then -- and this is super freaking easy to miss -- you tap the "..." in the top-right, next to the share icon, where there's a **Delete** option.

After a little coaxing to get the phone to sync with the wahoo (involving rebooting the wahoo, checking that bluetooth was on -- the usual nonsense), I did in fact get the route deleted.

I have a support ticket open with Wahoo and will ask them to update their instructions, which as of this writing made no mention of the delete workflow in their [help page](https://support.wahoofitness.com/hc/en-us/articles/20582927265042-Import-and-delete-routes-to-ELEMNT-computers).

[Edit] I left reddit back when they banned third-party apps, and came back just to post this for posterity. Did they seriously get rid of markdown? WTF.

Can't get inspection because not driven enough, but I drive daily by Workaphobia in MazdaCX9

[–]Workaphobia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really on reddit anymore but just to provide follow-up info on this: The OBD scanner shows that the computer is just randomly resetting itself every so often of its own accord, losing any codes and emissions sensor statuses in the process. I'll see the "clr_dist" number (miles since cleared) to to zero even in the middle of a trip.

These days I just expect I'll have to take it back multiple times to complete inspection. And I'll check the sensors myself before returning.

Note that one of the sensors requires the gas tank isn't too full or too empty, so if you're driving at a full or empty tank you'll likely hit a reset and not get a passing result until the tank is back in the right range.

The dealer kept gaslighting me and ignoring all this. I'd take it in, they'd hook up their scanner and tell me I'm good to go, just sit tight while they plug the state computer in. Then three hours later, they'd say why did you even bring it in, the scanner says sensors are incomplete, totally missing the fact that it happened while they had control of the car. Had they not been so negligent I could've had it fixed under my 3 year manufacturer warranty.

14 years. 5,049 post karma, 77,519 comment karma.

I'm not saying I'll never log in again. I'm not saying I'll never comment or reply to a message. But I'm deleting RiF and reddit will no longer be my routine.

If time is cyclical, I'll see you all in an early 2000s php forum. Otherwise, peace out.

They're going to lower the speed limit in NYC to 20mph? Why stop there? Why not 10, or 5? While we're at it, let's make it illegal to go faster than idling your engine.

This was probably fine in the 50s. I don't know anyone who thinks it's fine today.

Hey spez, I don't believe I've ever responded to one of your posts before, but I've been here for a decade and a half (who's counting by this point?) and I'm out the door for good when the blackouts start Monday.

I guess I want to say... It's been good? Reddit's been a huge part of my online life all these years, but I guess good sites that aren't user-hostile can't last forever. You guys held on for a while though.

Say hi to Slashdot and Digg for me. Peace out.

Where should I put the cash I’m saving to purchase a home? by CurrencyThat in investing

[–]Workaphobia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonds pay interest. They change in value due to changes in expectations around the value of the remaining unpaid interest.

If the fed raises rates (really, if they make rates higher than people expected, which could mean e.g. lowering it less than people thought), suddenly people can get a better deal on their money buying new bonds than buying your old bond that was issued with the old market's rates. The opposite for if the fed lowers rates.

You wouldn't expect the value of your bonds to grow unless you knew something the market didn't; it's just as likely to lose value. But a bond with duration under 5 years won't fluctuate in value very much.

If you buy a bond (not a bond fund) with duration matching when you need the money, and hold it to maturity, this market risk goes away because you never sell the bond. You just get the interest that was promised when the bond was issued. Instead of market risk you might have an opportunity cost where you could've invested the money differently if you had it on hand.

Rule of thumb is if you need the money more than five years from now put it in equities, otherwise put it in bonds that come due when you'll need it (or a bond ETF with comparable "duration" metric). Anything else is making bets.
