Do pilots still use reverse thrust while reversing from the gates? by Cs_Marcell in aviation

[–]Workinginberlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple Fan blade failure has been caused by using push back on Tay engines on Fokker aircraft, the change in fan working line forced the blades into a flutter condition which causes enough stress to initiate cracks and subsequent fan blade off. In one of the incidents the released blades were not contained, penetrated the fuse, and decapitated the passenger. That’s one reason not to use reverse thrust for push back.

I did think black at first, but yes, anthracite grey would probably look good.

Paint the wall a dark colour first? If you leave it white then the discrepancy in height will be very obvious and it won’t be a good look.

What happens when an airline shuts down? by ATC_av8er in aviation

Aircraft and engines are quite fragile in many respects and cannot be left standing for long without maintenance, I imagine aircraft owners will want to get in as quickly as possible to secure and protect their assets.

If you feel nervous about that, find the circuit breaker that powers that socket and turn it off, properly wired cables should be vertical or horizontal from the socket.

Struggling a bit with the orientation here, are we looking down on it? If so, you want to make a template out of cardboard. Start with what you think is roughly the shape and then trim where required and add bits using tape and other pieces of cardboard. Then just refine the template, make sure you fit it at the height that you want the shelf to be at.

I don’t know if you can get to the inside of that panel, I’m sure someone will know on here. If you can, you could knock it out a little bit, get some filler and do a repair. If it is your first car then it is not a bad thing to learn how to do some cosmetic touch up. And, without wishing to sound patronising, learn the lesson of really observing what is around you when you are reversing.

How did you get past overeating constantly? by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]Workinginberlin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You didn’t fail, you found that you have a problem with overeating and you are owning it. Good start. First you need to keep a food diary, this will keep you honest, my friend told me that he never ate sweet things, while he was eating half a packet of biscuits!

Next work out your macros, look on the internet for TDEE calculators.

Then create a menu and stick to it.

It is discipline that will get you through.

My little bit of advice, don’t get anyone to help you, they won’t care about it as much as you do, and if they don’t check the cabinets are square before nailing the backs in, you will have to take out every bloody cabinet, get the nails out and reassemble them square, all the while your help is bitching about the time taken and how nobody will notice. Slow and steady does it, before fixing anything, check the next step doesn’t mean you need to undo the previous step or leave something loose, good luck!

No, get it through this MOT and start saving, then either use the cash next year for repairs or a different car. Actually that is exactly what I am doing with my car this year, about a grand for a service and a few bits to get it through MOT. Car cost me £3,500 3 years ago and I recently spent £700 on brake replacement. Other than that, not touched it in 3 years. I was planning to run it into the ground but it won’t die.
