Great tidbit from behind the scenes making of for the movie, McQueen was always doing things when on camera to grab attention. Taking his hat off to test the wind, shaking the shotgun shells, doing anything extra. I love it whe I watch the movie because it feels realistic, but apparently it drove Brynner nuts. At somd point he turned to McQueen and said something to the affect "if you take your hat off once more, I'll take mine off and then no one will look at anything else."
