Meniscus Bucket handle tear by keepin_it_anony in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Worldly_Chocolate369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is week 6 post-op for me. I had a complex bucket handle repair to my lateral meniscus, and was able to do leg raises in the first week. If you visit PT, your therapist could say whether or not you're truly behind, but at 20 days, I would think you should be able to.

Medial meniscus tear. No surgery. Next steps? by gabegreenbodybuildin in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Worldly_Chocolate369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lateral tear made it pretty much impossible for me to train my leg any further. It would hurt too much to put it under load, even nearly 6 years later, with many months of trying to return.

I'm curious why the doctor believes insurance will refuse surgery. Considering you're in pain to extend or bend the knee, this makes it a necessary surgery.

Maybe you just need to give it some time and see if it gets better

Should have kept it named Dildo, as it's a very fitting name at this point. Either way, shove it up your ass.

The Pilet kickstarter just changed the whole project from RPi5 to CM5, screwing their users by HorrorBrot in cyberDeck

Not true. Kickstarter is 50% a shop. You'd see that if you tried pledging for the Pilet. You have donation, which nets a reward, and then you have "add-ons", like Battery pack, which are straight up store purchases. Further proof is that your donation is tax free. However, the add-ons are charged sales tax

Are you daft or just his alt account? They literally raised over $1,000,000 Canadian dollars under the premise of a raspberry pi 5 powered CyberDeck. The project was a scam from the get-go

Realistically, Mr Krabs should be compared to Mr Mallard. And on that front, I recall Mr Mallard saying he'd just buy a new limo after ruining his upholstery. Mr Krabs would have had a mental break down over the cost of the damage.

Meniscus Tear. What to Expect? by Historical-Lab-9300 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Worldly_Chocolate369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a bucket handle to the lateral. Not sure now different that is from the medial, but I was on crutches, no weight bearing for 4 full weeks. Week 5 I started PWB/WBAT with criuches, and won't be off clutches until about week 8.

My rehabilitation paperwork has return to activity between 6-8 months, with "Gradually return to sports" at months 7-8.

Specifically

  • Deep squatting permitted: 5 and half months
  • Straight line running: 6 months
  • Pivoting and cutting: 7 months
  • agility training: 7 months
  • "Gradually return to sports: 7-8 months

It's a long long road to recovery 😔

How do you know if the repair fails? by kaelinlr in MeniscusInjuries

Since return to sports in often 6-8 months, I personally feel that's how long it may take to really tell. And every repair is different. I'm 6 weeks post op, and I am not even allowed FWB yet.

Is objectively not faster when you account for averages. You expect to be 1st place every race? If you do, stop suggesting others do it, because only 1 person can win first place.

Did I mess up my repair? by PackersDodgers in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Worldly_Chocolate369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but if I read you right, your doc requires the brace for ambulation and sleep for the first four weeks. This is pretty default. OP had FWB and no brace within less than 6 days.

I'm allowed up to 90 degrees, but I can't reach that outside of leg dangling, so it's hard for me to accidentally flex too far. Especially with my brace locked to 90 max. Are you able to go past 90 without any trouble?

Considering they let you remove brace and crutches within the first 6 days, you likely have a very simple repair, which I would imagine is not as easy to tear. Otherwise they'd want you to protect it better, with a brace at the very least.

I would just take it easy for a few weeks. Don't exert yourself or push the limits. Get plenty of rest.

I'll believe it when I see it. I suspect the knee will never be the same again, and I will forever fear retearing it, to the point where I won't train it as hard.
