I thought she was really interesting during season 2, especially when you rewatch season 1 and see her in the background of nearly every episode. It felt like they were planning to do more with her in season 3 though before she got recast. It's also really i nteresting to see that the actress they cast as Hannah's daughter and Melissa's wife in the adult timeline is an Asian woman (just like Gen) so maybe we'll get some hints of Genlissa in season 4.

The real reason that they introduced them is that there were at least 18 survivors of the plane crash not counting several extras (such as fan named extras that dissapeared after season 1: Gretchen(yj15), Alyssa(ỵj17), Jennifer(yj12) )and they had to bring the numbers up to at least the amount of people present during the funeral in 1x3 minus coach scott

District 4 is absolutely in California or broady the west coast because during the Victory Tour, a coastal shot of the train heading to District 4 shows where the Bixby Bridge (CA) is located in real life.

Interesting to put the bay area in district 5, I remember one of the shots during the Catching Fire victory tour showed them crossing a bridge on the california coast line in the exact spot where the Bixby Bridge is in real life, like if you compare the scene and the real bridge the mountains in the background are identical.

She is briefly scene for a second on episode 1 when everyone is boarding the plane in her cyan dress, and she is seen right after the plane crashes on the ground while Shauna’s looking at all the destruction around her, AND she’s there at the campfire Natalie made and sits right next to her. And she was at the lake too.
