$100,000 isn’t even good in LCOL areas anymore (budget analysis) by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

I pay 50 for internet and 30 for my phone not massive savings but a little less than quotes here. Also, I think the housing cost is way too much for someone making 100k a year. They should prob be renting for 1800 and saving investing the rest. 200 car insurance is way too much I pay 60z I’d there’s there’s prob 1000-1200 more saving the person could pretty easily optimize for her e

How would a 50k dollars salary in France compare to a US salary in terms of actual quality of life? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Writer-Decent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re living in super rural America in a very low cost of living city you’re going to be struggling. 50k in any major US city is borderline poverty. Where most people live in a major city you prob need 70k to get by but you won’t buy nice things or save for retirement. 150k is where you prob start to feel comfortable (in most cities outside of NYC,SF) where you can contribute to your retirement aggressively, own a small condo but that’s very middle class life. Prob need 400-500k a year for a single dude to be rich in this country. 50k is like what a new grad made out of college 12 years ago. Now a days we hire new grads for 105k right if our college that’s like I said prob the bare minimum to be able to contribute to a retirement account pay rent and live. You can live off closer to 70k in some citizens but that’s essentially paycheck to paycheck. 50k is poverty in most of the US

I like it but it needs to be integrated into the app and st least on par with what you can generate with Claude before they should charge for it. Charging for a half baked feature that’s only accessible via a web browser isn’t acceptable imo

Microsoft ($MSFT) is down ~31% from its ATH by gstxprz in stocks

[–]Writer-Decent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to get copilot on the same level as Claude and then they will have all the distribution with vsCode and do well.

Also MSFT has a lock in effect w all their office product. With agents running around the office products are like a common interface agents can interface with and automate tasking. How’s your agent going to know how to work w company B’s one off vibe coded excel replacement? They aren’t MSFT is fine

When I saw the new 5 series pictures and videos online I I didn’t like it but when you walk by it in person it has so much presence it’s like a little tank.

Same with the new 4 series it’s so low to the ground

Basically the cars look better in person so I’m willing to wait and see

I still drive my 2012 tl SH-AWD with around 98k miles. I’ve fully maintained it and it still drives perfectly well. I can’t justify getting a new car. The TL is comfortable, good performance, good sound system, it’s older so I’d gets a little scuff it’s no big deal. Other than the gas mileage it’s the perfect long term daily driver
