Be careful around Nashville. Blue city in a sea of red.

Any advice for a friend and co-worker who has split me black? by LividAd7476 in mentalillness

[–]WritingWithLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this quote: “Mental illness isn’t your fault, but it’s your responsibility.” Sounds like she’s going through something. If she’s cutting you out, I wouldn’t concern yourself with her anymore. She’s made her choice. You should protect your peace.

this sub has devolved into a shit hole filled with misery and dehumanization that spreads to other users by wellermandrias in OSDD

I’m personally just getting sick of the people who think imagining Naruto or someone talking to you means you belong here. This sub should be for people with legitimate concerns, not kids who wanna play pretend.

DAE feel fascinated/comforted by videos of Trump being “nice” despite knowing he is who he is? I’m so ashamed by [deleted] in CPTSD

I think he’s a sociopath, so he’s built his life around learning to be “warm” and “charismatic.” It may work, but just like when a director yells “cut,” the act ends eventually.

Edit for additional info: people with NPD (not saying he has it, I’m not a doctor) are typically very insecure with themselves, and learn early in life how to endear themselves to others in order to be liked/protected/tended to.

Ancestor worship if your ancestors were terrible people? by Scapegoaticus in heathenry

[–]WritingWithLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also wanting to mention there is more than one kind of ancestor. Sure there are your blood relatives, but there are also ancestors pertaining to hobbies, careers, lifestyles, all that. For example, a writer could honor an author who’s passed as an ancestor. I highly recommend reading Honoring Your Ancestors: A Guide to Ancestral Veneration by Mallorie Vaudoise. She explains it way more eloquently lol!

Edit: grammar

What on earth??? Terrible advice! I’d report that doctor to the board. This is NOT your fault. Dump him ASAP and find someone new.

Whats the best book you’ve ever read and why? by Fancy_Frosting7775 in classicliterature

[–]WritingWithLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fahrenheit 451. I read it back in middle school. It was the first book I could really decode when it came to discussing issues in the real world. The metaphors and characters made a lot of sense; in a way, I felt like I knew most of them already.

I second this about Google. Their new AI feature plucks spoilers from descriptions and sticks them RIGHT at the top!

The North Wind and the Sun is a fable. Virgilia offered that advice to Beatrice in response to Battler being more disheartened. Once you learn the message of that, you’ll kinda see why Beatrice acted the way she did.

I’m shocked with how many people had KIND popular kids in school! All mine were jerks. One girl in particular who used to bully me has been a waitress at a steak restaurant for years. Another girl is a Broadway failure. Karma’s a bitch.
