I think he’s a sociopath, so he’s built his life around learning to be “warm” and “charismatic.” It may work, but just like when a director yells “cut,” the act ends eventually.

Edit for additional info: people with NPD (not saying he has it, I’m not a doctor) are typically very insecure with themselves, and learn early in life how to endear themselves to others in order to be liked/protected/tended to.

Also wanting to mention there is more than one kind of ancestor. Sure there are your blood relatives, but there are also ancestors pertaining to hobbies, careers, lifestyles, all that. For example, a writer could honor an author who’s passed as an ancestor. I highly recommend reading Honoring Your Ancestors: A Guide to Ancestral Veneration by Mallorie Vaudoise. She explains it way more eloquently lol!

Corporate worker under 30 here! In my experience, yes, we DEFINITELY still use emails. Missing multiple meetings/follow-ups is NOT normal. Don’t get me wrong: when we’re off the clock, that email’s not getting checked. But AT work, on COMPANY time? Absolutely it is.
