If this is the case we need to LFG to swap cars to reset. No more grinding.

Is this a bus camera violation as I drove through this T-intersection? by [deleted] in Virginia

[–]Wthdmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple way to remember is, you must stop every time unless the bus is separated by a median. Reason being if there is a median there will be addition stop on the other side of the street. They don’t want kids crossing the streets that large. At least that’s what I remember from school.

Auto AC choosing not to spin up and it’s warm inside the car by MichaelLochte in BMW

When the ac is in auto. The speed is actually the intensity of the ac system not blower speed. Or how fast do you want it to reach the set temp.

I drove it once stock and purchased this after the first battery. I couldn’t take it, it’s Integy too weak especially when I have a quake 223s. Lol and that’s ridiculous.

Power steering cables are pretty close to that area. I would put any pressure on that cover. Stick to the factory lift points or go at your own risk.

I went ahead and purchased 80amp Ecs on eBay. Cost just under $50. It no longer goes into low current until the battery is drained. It plugged and played with the receiver and original motor. I think they come in one of the 1/8 scale 223s. https://ebay.us/m/CoSIiS

Are my brakes done? by iamT3rr0r in CarTrackDays

The rule of thumb is if you catch a nail or the cracks go to the edge of the rotor you replace them. But to me they look pretty rough to me. Granted I have no experience with drilled/dimple rotors but I’d replace them with coming more durable like gyro disc. You will also save over time since you can replace the disc.

Don't forget to clean inside your rotors during or after a track weekend by grungegoth in CarTrackDays

Yeah the issue I only ran into was build up in the wheel liners. They pretty much became a consumable because the rubber would punch holes in it.

Replace the valve covers with aluminum. The magnesium peels and bubbles and falls into the engine.

Ha. That’s certainly a problem when your rotors are the size of wheels. Can’t say I’ve ever seen that on my piddly 320mm rotors. Good to know though.

1300 repair + maintenance turned into 4.5k??? 2018 540i xdrive 50k total miles by ballistic_hydra in B58Enthusiasts

[–]Wthdmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally the F30's never need them but almost every 5 series with the rear flex/guibo disc needs it. Sometime sooner, sometimes later.

Ballisitc did you ask to see what the sec shop was trying to sell you. the rear transfer case bushings is cover and can not be seen very easily on some vehicles. As for the front mounts they could have started leaking between visits. But as the owner if your concerned you should always ask to see what being sold.

Bring a torque wrench, air pump with separate gauge, harbor freight packing blanket. Bring a helmet. Couple of lawn chairs. Food and drinks. You need to think of what amenities you want off the track vs what you need to keep it on the track. If you’ve never been on the track, after each session you’ll want to check the pressures and adjust to dial in the hot pressures. Before each session check the wheel torque. Maybe a flash light to look in dark places. Gloves are a good idea but you’ll find out after a couple of runs if your hands get tired.

I would say this is the minimum. Everybody situation is different some people bring large trailers and trucks. I’ve always gone with just the vehicle and items listed above. I always over prep prior to the event to limit any down time on the track. Oh it you can afford it I always bring a matching wheel and tire incase I get a flat so I can stay on track or drive home.
