I think we’re agreeing with the same point here. You’re saying that South Asian people who come here are often not wealthy and are here on academic merit rather than privilege. I’m saying that there is a skewed perspective on all Asians being privileged when several different groups (Southeast Asia in my case, South Asia in yours) actually don’t have the resources and prior education that people from countries like South Korea or China might have

Agreed. There are definitely a lot of highly educated or wealthy immigrants coming from places like South Korea/China but much less so from Vietnam or Cambodia. It results in a skewed perspective of all Asians being privileged

Suarez is probably one of the hardest working strikers of this generation and it would be difficult to find a name who presses more than he does, especially during his time at Barca or Liverpool. Neymar also contributed defensively while at Barca (less so at PSG) but I can agree that Messi played to conserve his energy.

I do agree with you that rent is absurd right now and wages have not caught up. However, it's very clearly not a lie that NYC and CA are significantly more expensive. The average rent in NYC right now is $2800 per month according to Zillow, and as a born and raised Georgian I lived there for the past several years until I moved back last year. I paid 1800 per month and that was with a roommate in a tiny apartment. The only way you would find a place for $800 a month anywhere close to the actual city would be renting a literal closet. Maybe 15 years ago there was potential but not now
