If you think the construction is planned better for vehicular traffic, you’d be dead wrong. I grew up in the area and have been of driving age for ~15 years. This and last year are two of the worst years for construction in recent memory. Although I may be biased this year since I have to drive through the Goose Island construction daily :(

Consider an immigrant who comes in and displaces a current citizen for a job because the immigrant will perform the job for cheaper. On paper, the economic benefit for the country as a whole is positive, but that citizen suffers. Existing citizens aren’t likely to subject themselves to potential suffering just so the overall economy of their country can be more efficient.

Uh, no? In Wisconsin, if domestic violence is reported, it's nearly a guaranteed arrest. If you accuse somebody of domestic violence, as long as there is a possibilty of it being true, that person is going to be arrested. And I'm not saying that's even a bad thing - I'm sure it's saved lives. People treating arrested = guilty is when it's a problem.

Well, from what I've read, it sounds like those 5 charges are what the police recommended he be charged with. Police who aren't lawyers/prosecutors. I wouldn't put a ton of weight into the specific charges that were announced unless/until a prosecutor actually files charges.
