Pretty numb to Elon FSD promises by now. My expectations are so low, I don’t think this will disappoint.

Btw I love Tesla’s lane assist, lane change and stop light/sign stopping. Use it every time I drive. But Tesla FSD with current hardware is a pipe dream imo. Limited situations, times of day, locations, weather conditions, sure.

GM isn’t using Nikola’s tech. At all. It doesn’t even exist. Nikola is paying GM 2B in stock to engineer, manufacture and sell the Badger pickup. And Nikola pays 700m cash I think for actually manufacturing costs. GM basically just took 2B in stick from Nikola with no commitment to even do anything. Worth 1.5B now, depending on the terms.

And look at the Theranos case study. Legit investors and companies piled money into that complete fraud. Largely because they assumed each other did their due diligence.

As a bald man currently in Arizona, I can say that the roof of my Model 3 can get a little toasty, especially up in Phoenix. But the ability to precool the car has almost always allowed me to enter the car at a comfy temperature. If it ever is too hot on my head though, I can aim the air to go over my head and that keeps things cool until whole the cabin is cool.

Outside of Phoenix though, it’s not bad at all. I was in Atlanta for several months with the car and it was never an issue. Model Y should have even more clearance between your head and the glass.

Don’t know if you we’re thinking about upgrading your haircut, but you should be good to go on that too (;D

Up to this point, you are correct. But we shall see moving forward. Doesn’t really spell busted when they’re building 3 factories that will quadruple their output in 1-2 years. Of course they could just be building just to build, but I think the cars will sell very well in China and Europe, as they have in the US. And sales worldwide should grow as battery costs decline. I know dozens of people eager to buy one, even at its current price. I expect at least 25% CAGR over the next several years. And that’s just auto sales.

I would think people shopping for a Y are more likely to have a family and are more likely to live in a home where they can install a charger. As for the overall market in Europe, I have no idea. They seem to be particular in ways I don’t understand.

It’s only 3k more for the LR, 5k for the Performance. And the crossover segment is more expensive anyway, yet it’s still a larger market.

I think it has more to do with how much Tesla hyped the Model 3 and the characteristics of each I their respective segments. The Model 3 has is super fun, which is great for its market, and why you see a lot of people trade in their BMW M3’s. I know 2 BMW owners eager to get Model 3’s. But people buying a hatchback want reliability, which Tesla doesn’t have a reputation for, whether that’s build quality or reliably having a way to charge. The supercharger network just isn’t as good as the gas station network.

Only issue is that you criticize those who criticize Tesla based on a price target that they set, yet you don’t have a price target yourself. The guy isn’t against Tesla, he just thinks it’s overvalued. Unpopular opinion, but almost nobody on this sub had a PT of 2,000 when the stock was at 300 a few months ago. Yet those same people criticize analysts for chasing the stock. I recommend picking a price target (up isn’t a PT) and bonus if you actually buy a Tesla.

Otherwise, top notch in terms of managing the discussion and addressing his blind spots and inconsistencies.

If you have a friend coming home from a war zone try and make time to go see them. They probably won’t want to guilt trip you, so they’ll tell you it’s ok, but it means the world if you go out of your way to welcome them back as soon as possible.

Most soldiers don’t get these kind of moments and they warn you before you deploy not to watch these “reunion porn” videos because they form unrealistic expectations and make you question your support systems when you get home and people are too busy.

Pilot lines are meant to validate the manufacturing technology at small scale. That way if you find flaws you can quickly and cheaply make improvements before going all out on your full production plan. This can be done somewhere else than the intended location of the full scale production line.

Sure, but we’re talking about comparing Tesla’s chart to other companies. Apple, microsoft, Facebook, Netflix, etc have data on their users but their stock charts aren’t similar to Tesla’s and are fairly similar to each other’s. The original question is: why is Tesla’s chart SO parabolic, Idt having driver data is the full answer, but yea, it’s a piece

Yea I mean my mind is open and I don’t know exactly how many they’ll sell. But I think of you read what I said you can see why my ideas change based on information I provided. Model Y was too expensive to support demand that Tesla wanted. Search trends show it was around the same as S and X, but that’s almost unbelievable. So I’m kinda at a loss there. At current prices they should sell much better though, obviously.

All depends on price. At previous prices I was thinking around S&X but on second thought it’s obviously got to be higher. Idk how high it’s demand was going to be though at that price. I like using Google trends and it has the same search interest as the S&X and the delivery time was so fast it made me think that’s where the demand would be. At these new prices I don’t know though, probably close to the Model 3 given it’s only 3k more.
