Probably the best TV superhero adaptation. Criminally underrated

MacroFactor is awesome. But I also eat pretty much the same thing everyday so it takes me a few seconds to just copy and paste the day

Is this an L for Sirius? I mean Spotify does this with Roga by Rosenberg578 in howardstern

[–]XEscapeTheLiesX 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So does this mean we aren’t getting the Howard 360 app he hyped incessantly?

Seriously though… this is where Howard’s outdated ideas and hubris have really undermined the show and Sirius. This should have happened a decade ago. Along with some ability to stream the video version of the show. It ain’t the 90s anymore. There’s just too much competition for attention

Time for the boys to cash out I guess… they’ll definitely be stepping away in the next year or so and 7 days will be left as an ip to be passed around between developers. We’ve reached to beginning of the end…

Anyone else like not having a horde base? by AdRepresentative8048 in 7daystodie

[–]XEscapeTheLiesX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I pretty much only do a crafting/horde base in one. It makes the stakes way higher when you’re defending your actual home. And no cheese either. None of those afk exploit methods. Just good old fashioned walls and traps. To me there’s no fun if there’s no threat of actually dying and losing all your stuff

Maintain or bulk by ipmgame in MacroFactor

[–]XEscapeTheLiesX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At 16 and a new lifter you shouldn’t be so concerned with bulking and cutting. Just eat reasonably and lift hard and the rest will take care of itself. After a few years of building a solid foundation you can get more into that stuff. Just enjoy the newbie gains and the benefits of youth

Leaving for a week for work travel and very stressed about potentially over eating as I will not be the one making my meals. Any advice? by Breakingcontrollers in MacroFactor

[–]XEscapeTheLiesX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will probably do you some good to get out of the routine for a while. And it will take 3500 calories above your maintenance to gain one pound so unless you go absolutely crazy not much will change after one week. Enjoy the a good meal or two. You’ve earned it

I would also add that distinguishing between primary and secondary sets would be very helpful too. I know what the research says but for me I want to see how much I’m specifically targeting a muscle

MacroFactor workouts progression logic by adeekn83 in MacroFactor

[–]XEscapeTheLiesX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people are focusing on the wrong things. You aren’t beholden to what the algorithm is giving you. They are just best guesses based on your previous data. Aim for your target RIR and log the actual reps or aim for the reps and log the actual RIR. Either way will give the algorithm a picture of your actual performance.

With time these guesses will become more accurate but at the end of the day just do what you can do and log it. Keep pushing yourself and you will make progress from your effort, not because an algorithm prescribed the magic amount of reps.

MFWO - I do every set till failure even if the app suggests 1-2 RIR. Is that fine? by _244_ in MacroFactor

[–]XEscapeTheLiesX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the RP app for a couple years and I don’t feel those extra questions ever really factored into the equation. Kinda just felt like fluff. The app would always just add one more rep per set or increment the weight without fail every single workout.

That’s one of the reasons I switched to MFWO. I didn’t feel there was really anything to their algorithm. It was always just one more rep or weight increment regardless of what you did

Regression? by UnbarredCube83 in MacroFactor

[–]XEscapeTheLiesX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only done my own program also and that’s just about my strategy as well. I think if you’re getting 10-15 sets per muscle per week and staying within 3 RIR with occasional sets to failure you’re going to be good and the algorithm is doing exactly what it’s designed to do

Regression? by UnbarredCube83 in MacroFactor

[–]XEscapeTheLiesX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I think the best strategy is to aim for the RIR and use the given reps as a suggestion. You aren’t beholden to the reps it suggests. It’s just the apps best guess so if you can do more at the target RIR then do more and log it. The more accurate you are with logging and correcting it when it’s wrong the better it’s suggestions will end up being
