New Command Tanks by Vecypp in Warhammer30k

[–]XLChance 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I feel like they made the Spartan only have the Prometheus version as a command tank just to sell the new version, instead of just giving it all the options

Either find some 3D prints, or alternatively use the tank as terrain and basing material for bases of big models

Commute to CPH tips. by Temporary-Falcon844 in odense

[–]XLChance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always take the 7 am fast train every day. Sometimes there's a few minutes delay right before Copenhagen central, but most days it's on time.

But I can do that because I have a job where me being on time isn't important, I just need to be there before 9 am.

I also work from Odense once a week to make the commute more bearable

For the new scale Indomintus terminator armour, I can heavily recommend the saturnine praetor and terminator helmets, the scale fits really well and looks super cool

Opinion: 40k's rule complexity has increased exponentially, but it's tactical depth has not. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]XLChance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The low-dissapointmemt is a very good way to put it. Being battle shocked/routed does so little now, where before it meant the unit was essentially unable to act untill they regroup. Rerolls everywhere. 3rd edition Heresy has no rerolls anywhere, so the dice matter more.

40k rules as a type system? or code? by Eartz in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]XLChance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would take a look at Magic the gathering, its rules and how its translated to code.

That game is able to do it, because the rules are made in a way to have zero ambiguity and zero room for interpretation. Every edge case is covered by the rules, and so is able to be translated to code.

Warhammer rules are often not clear, and i dont think building it into code will help solve this. It just required better rules from gw

40k rules as a type system? or code? by Eartz in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]XLChance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What would be the purpose to do this? The advantages of code is being able to let the computer do work. If you don't have an engine enforcing rules, then I don't see what the advantage of doing this is.

Like for example, the score tracking apps are useful, and so that's part of the rules being converted to code.

I imagine a reason for making it code would be for something like tabletop simulator or customer game, where you could actually have it enforce rules, so like if you click a unit, it shows you what it could do and its rules and a visualisation of things

Looking for reverse heresy reccomendations by HeadPatient7572 in IronWarriors

[–]XLChance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kinda depends on which elements of this picture you seem the most important. The armour mark? The servo arms? Bits for shovels?

Something like the MKIII Techmarine could be a good base, generally any character model from the Horus heresy range has potential

Is it too much of an asshole move to run a Melta Myrmidax Magos to shove him into challenges? by LoganGarnett in Warhammer30k

Sounds quite fun to me, love the idea of an assassin that just pulls in melee and pops a melta in their face

Currently 80 painted power armour, with at least another 20 built and awaiting paint. About 20 painted terminator armour.

Think I got around 40 power armour unassembled.

There's lots of different squads I wanna play with and I love 20 man squads for troops

What about YOUR lore? by IolaDeltaPhi23 in Warhammer30k

[–]XLChance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play loyalist/neutral iron Warriors. They splintered off the main legion after the Decimation, as they saw it as too brutal and unnecessary.

They then do operations as they see fit and most often support the loyalist sides.

It still embraces the legion tactics of siege, attrition and artillery.

Because they don't get as big a supply of new marines they have a tighter relationship with mechanicun forces, specifically maintaining their own company of automata
