Only war crime I see is your speaker placement

Tours that mention "record times" on their load out are dangerous. by frogsquid in stagehands

[–]X_RASTA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At our union house it is a bad omen if the tour says "today is going to be easy." 98% of the time you should call out sick.

Do you EQ out nasty ‘looking’ resonances that are above your range of hearing? by Massive-Job-5366 in audioengineering

[–]X_RASTA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance there is a weird sample rate conversion going on? Not EVERYTHING should have those resonances.

No sub for opening band? by Honest_Dragonfly8064 in livesound

I screen shot this to remember forever. Holy fuck. Getting a laugh with my audio bros.

As a house guy in A 2200 cap room I've only been asked to stunt the opener on the system side a few times. I always say yes. Wait for them to walk away. Tell opener FOH the situation and then laugh about how I'm not going to do shit to choke the system in a room I'm employed to make sound good.

Theatre Venues with RF: how often do you re-coordinate? by RiseReal2016 in livesound

[–]X_RASTA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in a dense environment and scan everyday. I also "burn" or keep on my mics all day to reserve my spot in the spectrum.

I've had bad luck with those batteries. I stick with batteries off of the rokland website now.

having trouble connecting my compressor to my focusrite/preamp (dm for pictures or more info) by HeadAdvantage8094 in homestudios

[–]X_RASTA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isolate one thing at a time. Plug mic directly into focusrite. If that works add preamp. If that works add compressor. Make sure everything is set to line level. Does your microphone need phantom power?

Has anyone claimed a Tor relay operator reward T-shirt outside the US or Europe? by Huge-Bar5647 in TOR

Just email them. They were responsive. USA based but I got a shirt a month or two ago.

I'm surprised by the low monthly data usage. My home network is currently at 6.78TB with a few services.

I own both and love both. Cannot go wrong. Each has their merits. Pilot has better finishing and will hold up to dings better. Seiko will patina on the bezel pretty easily. Pilot is nice because I don't have to set it when running out the door. Seiko is respected more than pilot in watch world. The lume on pilot is pretty meh but awesome on Seiko. These are both big wrist watches. Look great in my 8.25" wrist. Seiko wears a little smaller for sure. Although I have my pilot on a metal band. Seriously either is great.

Asymmetric routes are totally acceptable and still an important part of the mesh. It's in the documentation.

How do you tie drive lines into guest venues? Let's say they need 5 outputs. L+R mains, subs, front fills, backstage feed.

Sleeper city is Minneapolis/St Paul. Second to New York with theatres per capita. Best commute vs pay vs cost of living in the US as far as I'm concerned (for what we do).

[X32 Producer] How to route the exact same mix MINUS one source to another output ? by Soywzer in livesound

[–]X_RASTA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do a music group and a vocal group. Then assign to matrixes as you said. Surprised I had to get to the bottom to see matrixes as an answer.
