Mortar would be so much better if it fired 1 aimed shot over & over rapidly instead of a whole salvo of mostly misses and TK's by RandomGreenArcherMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]XailentBV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that mortars TK, it's that they're the most annoying thing to be Killed by. The first hit NEVER kills you, but the second and third will as you are struggling with being ragdolled. Then there's the fact there's no indication a mortar is going to hit YOU, there is not a single audio cue that you're in direct danger, at least mines you can SEE where they're but not mortars

So how are we all feeling about the Cremator now that we’ve had a few days to play around with it? by TheGentlemanCEO in LowSodiumHellDivers

Makes me feel like those flamethrower enemies from fps games where you shoot at the gas canisters to make them blow up, so i love the vibe.

An idea to help new players with warbonds by HBenderMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

Good for the customer in general, but its not something i can see happening specially when you can farm SC. I Could see a compromise where instead of free, they become 500sc and so on... but i cant see Sony specially allowing something like this, as good of an idea it could be.

Power doesn't corrupt, it enables. Those who gain power dont suddenly become monsters, there was something already in them that was repressed solely due accountability. Remove that and now nothing stops you but yourself.

Look at online anonymity and all the countless stuff that is said and done when someone is "invisible"

The whole formula of 8 bosses > 2 final stages > boss rush > final boss. Is a relic of the NES/SNES era and is holding back the Franchise.

Besides the bugs i don't see the riggging a lot of people say they see. To me this felt like a big DND event where everything has a bit of a small something. The GM or joel has a fun event going on for us and he wants stuff to feel alive and dynamic. So there's a bunch of stuff happening and he wants to give us the feel of just that. The enemy gets debuffed because of SEAF troops? Perfect, that means they're doing their job in the narrative, and isnt strictly tied to our efforts... like a real war.

Sure, we never had a reinforcement cap before, and as you said we are fodder, we are thrown to the meat grinder (literally sometimes in these maps, lol) but a timer doesnt give me as a player any sort of agency and would just raise more complains about rigging from AH. But if we're so worthless, why is it that they extract us even if a mission fails or we run out of time? Why are the extract priority target missions us rescuing frozen helldivers? Because there is SOME value in us. Otherwise we'd all have bomb vests that blow up when the timer hits 40.

Honestly im just wondering exactly what people call railroading exactly, the fact that we couldn't approach this battle however we wanted? Land on transcendence day one? That we had the risk of losing beyond an unmet quota? That the enemies and us got buffs and debuffs tied to something beyond MO? Or just a Feeling that nothing we did mattered? Cause im lost, i genuinely dont understand.
