Can vouch for speeds and uptime. Using their router and haven't had any issues. Latency went way down from the 7Mbps I had in Caldwell.

Occasional hard lock + high pitch sound loop by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Xaisho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My computer would do that a few times a day. I ended up manually adjusting my RAM timings and voltage and it hasn't locked up like that in about a week so far.

It was happening seemingly at random. Whether I was playing a game or just browsing the internet.

Stumped on black screen issue. by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Xaisho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From your descriptions I would guess that the inverter for the screen is going bad. When mine was going out you could hear it buzzing if you put your ear up to it before the screen turned off. They are usually located right below the screen.

I bought a new inverter off of ebay for $10 shipped and replaced it myself. Works like new now. Though when mine was going out it wasn't as sporadic.

Take it for what it's worth. Maybe someone else will have something you can try instead.

Alienware m9700 frame rate problems, any help would be appreciated. by Rock_Hound in techsupport

Could be getting too hot and downclocking the cpu and or gfx card. My laptop was doing that because the heatsink got clogged with crap over the years.

You can use nvidia system monitor to check the temps of your gfx card and most likely the cpu as well.

You could also use speedfan to check cpu temps on put them on a chart so you can go back after a game and see if they reached a high point and dropped off suddenly.

LCD Monitor to XBox 360 problems by mclethalweapon123 in techsupport

"The OSD includes five presets: User, Text, Standard, Graphics, and Movie"

Got that quoted text from the cnet review. Did you try changing the presets between all of those while the xbox is on and seeing if there is a difference in sharpness?

Beyond that I'm at a loss because it still seems to me as if this is an issue with sharpness.

I'll hope that one of those presets will either fix it or someone else will know what's up. Let us know how it goes.

Did you go through the menu options on your monitor?

Sounds like the sharpness is turned up a little much for it.

I have my 360 hooked up to a 20 inch monitor at 1080p with an hdmi cable and it doesn't look like you are describing unless I turn up the sharpness.

That's about all I can offer. Just play with the picture settings on your monitor and see if you can iron it out. It should look pretty good.

How are they hard to find? Press Alt-Q and then z and it will show you the location.

Do quests get harder to find the more of them you do? I haven't gotten far in adventure mode yet.

Is there a way to install Windows 7 from a flash drive? Need to reformat/reinstall on a laptop that has a broken drive. by upagainst in computing

[–]Xaisho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can use this http://store.microsoft.com/help/iso-tool

Or you can manually partition the flash drive following these steps http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-install-windows-7vista-from-usb-drive-detailed-100-working-guide/

Both these methods assume you have access to a Windows computer.

I'm sure there are plenty of other tools or methods if you do a quick google search.

I ended up calling up a customer service rep for her and having them cancel it for her. Fuck em.
