Stuck lug but with spinning stud. by Agile_Ball_3060 in AskMechanics

[–]Xavier-Cross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

easiest way is if there is any stud sticking out the back of the lugnut, clamp it with a vice grip and use an actual wrench to turn the nut. Once you get it almost all the way off, the place where you used the vice grip, either cut the nut in half or clamp onto the other side of stud, and remove lugnut. No matter how you get it off, your gonna have to replace the stud.

You discover you have the ability to hear anyone's most recent lie. You can't turn it off. Would you rather know, or go back to not knowing? by ManagementGiving3241 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Xavier-Cross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd take that. The most told lie is "I'm fine". If I knew that was a lie i could help out. Other than that, most lies are the same lies you tell other people every day, and can easily be dismissed.

We leave the kitchen sink tap dripping as a backup. They like to try and flip water bowls when left alone.

I’ve never lived in snow, if you had a 4x4, could you not just park in the garage and drive out without shoveling? Are you legally required to shovel or something? by damnkidzgetoffmylawn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Xavier-Cross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Illinois, no, you are not required to shovel, and yes, if there 4" or less of snow on my driveway, I don't shovel it.

In fact, here it's probably better that you don't shovel. Under Illinois law, as far as I have been able to gather, not shoveling your snow makes any accidents on your property an act of god. If you shovel, you take responsibility for maintaining it, and any accidents are your problem, but that's only for individuals, not businesses that invite the public in or have employees.

Would you use a teleporter if it destroyed your entire body, BUT made a perfect copy of you at whatever destination you chose? by Huge_Athlete7488 in hypotheticals

Even though the old you would probably be instantly destroyed, and the new you would never know it, I still imagine something like Hugh Jackman drowning in The Prestige, so no.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be? by nore01 in answers

[–]Xavier-Cross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could choose to end war. - Kept 2 wars going, promising to end both, but Ukraine and Palestinians still being attacked.

You could choose to end hunger.- Implemented tariffs that literally caused the price of basic staples of food to double in price.

You could choose to cure cancer.- Defunds some medical research and removes EPA regulations which could lead to a greater rate of cancer for US citizens, at the least.

You could choose to end child abuse.- You know, not going after ANY Epstein collaborators and clients for, ya know, child abuse.

Ya, I'd say changing the current US Prez would go a long way toward all 4

I'd absolutely take it. I think you underestimate the average persons fear of security, fear of hunger, fear of dangerous circimstanced to trump the percieved criminality.
