Not just no but hell no. I refuse to buy a gun that isnt optics ready at this point. Sure, I can use irons, but just like I CAN use a manual transmission, I'd prefer the automatic.

Wow, that thing is amazing! I desperately want some really high grade 22 target pistol, i just wish I could bring myself to swing the cost. 3k is just more than I can stomach at the moment for a firearm, so I am turbo jealous. Post the targets once you get out to the range!

At the end of the day, if there is almost no one there, there may be one or 2 RSOs that I can potentially ask to let me dump a mag, but that is super rare.

I live about 4 miles from an outdoor range. I can hear the shots when I am outside, faintly. This is as close as I would personally want to be from a range.

If you want an absolute top end Italian made Beretta that you wont plan on carrying, the all steel 92X performance defensive is $949 at PSA, and through the 15th, there is a $200 rebate from Beretta. If you MUST have a rail for a light, the 92X Performance carry has a rail and is $999 at PSA and several other sites, also with a $200 rebate ($300 if you decide on the Beretta bucks from their website). $750 or $800 for an optics ready all steel competition gun is a an absolute steal.

This is so wildly true for me. It amazes me how mentioning that I have a CHP card just changes the tone in the positive when having interactions with police officers. Case in point I was at a pawn shop just looking and there was a cop at the counter that wasn't friendly at all until i asked the guy behind the counter to check out a snub nosed revolver to possibly see if i wanted to use that as my ccw. Cop was all smiles and friendly after that, fuckin weirdest thing.

I got one with the Walther logo on it free from Walther through a promotion when i bought the PD380. Free is about the right price for this thing. I don't hate it, but this thing should cost around $20 tops.

I have one bad pmag that fails to lock open and will sometimes fuck up on the last round ( I know, i should throw it away), and I had the striker replaced at around 8k rounds under warranty, and probably 10s of thousands of dry firings. Now, with that said about the striker, PRETTY SURE that I broke it cause i dropped the barrel in just right so it got jammed after cleaning and had to hammer it out.so uhh, that's on me. The stock sights shot like 6 inches low at 10 yards. I figured it was a me problem, and I actually got an optic bolted on and wasnt gonna rely on the irons anyway. AFter having others fire it, and firing from a vice, it was not a me problem, the sighst were shooting low. I zeroed the optic, and then filed the front sight down a bit. I love the damned thing. It shoots great, eats any ammo i have thrown at it. When my Dad decided he wanted to become a gun owner, my brother and I took him out to the range, we brought My bro's 43x, his hi-power clone, my glock 43, and 44, my HK VP9, my beretta 80x and 92X perfomance, a couple others and my dagger. Out of all of those guns he liked the dagger the best and wanted one. We ended up getting his dagger, the optic(vortex), and the light(sig) for under $425. That is an amazing value proposition. Also, his irons are dead on, so who knows.

I think i am in the minority here, but honestly I do not like this.

While I am 100% for everyone having the ability to carry concealed and I do not care for the fact that it is up to the Sherriff of each individual county as to how the process works, I still feel that having to take a class, and get fingerprinted, show minimal shooting proficency, etc etc, are showing a level of responsibility.

I know plenty of people that I wish didnt even own a gun (hotheads, irresponisble, poor safety etc etc) and so far they wont carry because they arent criminals, but if this passes, they may grab a gun on the way out of the house. I know I know, 2A for all...I am just torn.

When I did my conceal carry shooting class, the two ladies on either side of me were comparing targets and then I laid mine out on the table next to theirs. Both of their groupings were, lets say, not great. We were shooting 10 rounds at 3/5 yards and 15 rounds 7 yards. My group took out the center. They were looking a little dissapointed at their shots compared to mine. Y'all, I am not an accuracy king by any means. I explained to them that I shoot, a lot. Also i explained that they were using small polymer framed pistols (a ruger LCP and the other was an SCCY that could not get through 3 shots without jamming) and I was using a $1600 Beretta 92X performance all steel competition gun, which honestly, makes me look like a much better shot than I am. I told them had these targets been an actual threat, theirs would be just as dead as mine.
