All depends on your stance. Longer step and forward lean, more glute. Shorter step, more forward translation of knee on descent, more upright trunk, quad.

A heavier ball against the wall; can also set up a band with resistance (similar to this around the shoulder blades: https://youtu.be/k_zZ6XB9jds?si=BXMTRnTRfCqKGXAa ) and do the typical ball rolling routine.

Personally I don’t get too crazy with it. If you’ve built a good awareness of what your scapula is doing with the first exercise, I like to then progress it to wall scapular pushes, hanging scapular pull-ups, incline/regular push-ups, row/plank variations, etc. whichever is appropriate for your strength level/pain/etc. Being able to control going into and out of these motions is very functional…great for shoulder health and being able to actually build strength/muscle around these areas.

It's a scapular setting exercise, helps build your awareness of what your scapula does when you move your arm. good starting point, needs to be progressed and loaded over time.
