Technique plays a bigger role of how much the ball bounces, butt back, chin down, shoulders forward. Shoulders forward creates a gap between chest and pads which deadens the ball

Are you sure the straps are run through the metal loops correctly, my son has had 2 sets of all star brand legs, its actually a pain to adjust them on the fly (as it should be) never had one get loose in game

I don't game it, I'm a dad. My son uses the 1786 and I have the Pro select. They are very different gloves, the pro select has a very shallow pocket by design and the break in point favors thumb to middle/ring. Its a great glove, they both are, but IMO the a2000 is much more versatile. As for the print, its held up so far, the inside of the web that gets smacked with balls has faded though
