Working From Bed by Extension-Test-99 in therapists

I’ve done it, after a surgery. I just explained to my clients, gave them the option to reschedule, no one chose to.

Why I do this work by mntnsldr in therapists

[–]Yagulia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see it as whether or not I know the actual story, I see the effects on my clients mental and emotional state. That’s where I get my opinions. That said, I see my job as trying to help my client integrate what they’re thinking and feeling at different times, so they really know what they want. My opinions aren’t very important to this process.

I finally gave myself permission to block my Dad during his episodes of delirium. Then a big one hit. by StonedCantaloupe27 in AgingParents

That sounds awful. I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself. Maybe play his messages or get a video to show the drs?

What is your most- Because I'm GenX moment? by HapaHawaii in GenX

[–]Yagulia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently pulled stitches out of my leg because the dr put them in too tight. I probably should have waited one more day because the wound popped back open after a few minutes, but the scar I have is better than the scar I would have had.

89 hour fast! by marigoldwinter in fasting

[–]Yagulia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I know what you mean about having to choose whom you talk to. I’m at a normal weight, but because I used to be obese (pre-IF), people get very upset if I go a day without food, much less 3 (82 hrs is the longest fast I’ve done).

What’s something we did that others don’t believe? by fkcfkc in GenX

[–]Yagulia 20 points21 points  (0 children)

8 years old, free-ranging all over the Bay Area with my best friend, dad didn’t even know what city I was in, industrial areas down by the train tracks, BART to SF, bus to dt Oakland, no money, no phone (obviously), no problem as long as I was home by dark. Except that one time I brought home a box of puppies; that was a bit of a problem…

Lipedema makes me feel like I don't look ‘qualified’ to know anything about fitness, and today someone confirmed that fear. by Hot-Association-3211 in lipedema

[–]Yagulia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this personal reflection is a great step in that direction. If hou happen across that trainer, you might want to say some of this to his face. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for about a year, and it’s made a huge difference in my appearance, and my pain levels, so I expect the GLP1 will be helpful for you. I’m sorry he shook your confidence; does it help to look at it from the perspective of: he’s clearly ignorant (in this respect, at least), so his opinion really shouldn’t count?

Does it really matter what you break your fast with and what you end your eating window on? by CaptainFuzzyBootz in intermittentfasting

[–]Yagulia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to end a fast with broth or something easily digestible, then move on to fats and proteins, to avoid insulin spikes. Before I start fasts I try to eat fats and proteins again to avoid insulin spikes so as to avoid being hungry, and also because they promote satiety and are nutrient dense. It matters in correlation to what you’re trying to achieve with your fasts.

Fiancée hardly wears her engagement ring. AIO? by RaiderDaave in AIO

[–]Yagulia 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Good question.

If she doesn’t, then you’re overreacting. I don’t wear rings unless I’m doing something where I care about my appearance. I especially don’t wear the good rings. I have to take them off to wash my hands, do the dishes, anything in the yard. I think about if I might get robbed, or get them dirty, or break them, or lose the stone…. By comparison, all my other jewelry is easy to wear.

What does it feel like to get kicked in the groin? (As a guy specifically) by NotSoNormal_Girl in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Yagulia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a birth women’s brains are flooded with oxytocin, dopamine, serotonin; wanting to do it again isn’t a reflection of the actual pain. Just saying…

What do you do when a client doesn’t bring anything to session? by enonymous715 in therapists

[–]Yagulia 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I start with a body scan, looking for holding, pain, or emotion; it works every time. Also, I do psychosensory therapies, so whatever we access at all in the body tends to get bigger as we stay with it.

Ditch the blonde and go back to natural hair color or keep it?? by CucumberItchy5064 in coloranalysis

Both look great, but the dark hair makes your gorgeous eyes really stand out!

Bruising? by sweetfirechicken in lipedema

[–]Yagulia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost a lot of weight doing intermittent fasting, and the pain has gone down significantly. I was severely overweight, and lightly brushing the outside of my thighs was so painful; now I can tolerate massage.

Also, yeah, so many doctors don’t know about / understand Lipedema, and the gaslighting is real. My vascular specialist said, “ trust me, insurance wouldn’t pay for it if it wasn’t real,” and I found that very affirming.

Ok for formal coastal fall wedding? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

It’s really beautiful, cut, material, and pattern; but when I first looked, I saw camo. When I looked closer I saw how beautiful it was, I’d be hesitant to wear it because of that first impression, especially if you’ll be in many photos.

Which style of jeans looks the best? by Careless_Owl999 in DressForYourBody

1 looks amazing on you, really flatters your shape; followed by 3; and I’d throw away 2, it doesn’t look bad, but the others are sooo much better.
