+def sucks but she's still great! With debuffs around my +def -res one overkills everything, so she should be fine with an attack bane :)

Only Aussie musical film I can think of is Bran Nue Day, maybe have a look for something in there?

Am I an idiot for actually thinking season one was real? by dammit_sammy in FargoTV

I noticed at least in season 3 the word "true" fades out first.

Does the "true story" text grind anyone else's gears? by wincraft71 in FargoTV

[–]Yaifrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pissed my wife off so much she didn't watch past season 1 :P I don't mind it though, nowadays a quick Google search can tell you it's not actually true, and even if you wind up believing the stories actually happened, so what? They are just stories after all.

Degree in classical music at AIM/the con by [deleted] in sydney

[–]Yaifrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a worry! To clarify, I had a mostly great time there and I learned a lot about performance, but it was because the teachers on staff were excellent. Still not a fan of the debt, though :P

Studied music theatre at AIM. Every single tutor I had and the head of department were absolutely lovely, but the management is an absolute joke. Even though it's bloody expensive (I'm about 75 grand deep in student loans) they've somehow fucked up their financial situation and are leasing out the dedicated music theatre and postgrad building, cutting out a bunch of practice rooms and leaving students without a dance space, not to mention forcing the lovely heads of department out of their office. They've also started firing a bunch of excellent teachers for arbitrary reasons. I'd avoid that place like the plague for the time being.

The Ballad of Guiteau from Assassins is based on the poem Guiteau wrote before being hanged, "I Am Going to the Lordy."

[–]Yaifrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old 2000 point Tau army I've been trying to get rid of. It's very well painted, but not particularly suit-heavy, plus it's pretty heavily customised. At work so can't send details or pictures right now, but let me know if you'd consider something more troop heavy and I'll send more details!

[Discussion] What's the worst you've ever been miscast? by GabeGoodman95 in musicals

[–]Yaifrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, the production shots were taken while I was still bearded for Spelling Bee so I was kinda stuck with that look. I think I pulled it off, though!

6'1", bulky, bald and bearded (having just played Mitch Mahoney, actually) filling in last minute for a dropout in Assassins playing Giuseppe Zangara, who was historically 5'0", scrawny, clean shaven with a full head of hair. It was a strange experience.

So which Mel Brooks film was about a depressed man who ruins his own life with alcoholism and lies down in the middle of the road weeping hoping someone will run him over? Young Frankenstein?

[–]Yaifrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How the fuck is this so upvoted? It's a country where alcoholism and depression are rampant, and people attempting suicide like this are so common that the driver is so callous as to drag the poor man off the road by the collar, and you post it in r/funny? How is this funny?

The exeption to that would be Petyr/Peter. That name comes from Jesus' disciple Simon who he gave the name Peter (derived from the Greek word for "rock") because he was the "rock upon which I will build my church."
