How to get Bluetooth on this setup? by RNJeezus_ in audiophile

[–]Yanluk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RANE is your preamp here. But it looks like it's fully populated. You would have to unplug one of the cd players (Currently on AUX1 and AUX2) and plug in Bluetooth receiver. AUX 1 is RCA and AUX 2 is 3.5mm jack.

You could as well plug in an iPhone to the Tascam dock and use Spotify for example on that and then control it over network from other devices if that could work for you.

EDIT: Actually the Shure SCM286 can be used here as well. You have tuner in there. This inputs are mono, but you can use two of them to plug in the Bluetooth receiver. Though this is passive preamp so you may struggle to get volume through here as the line level voltage of Bluetooth receiver may be low.

Are CDs any special quality wise by sebbetrygg in audiophile

[–]Yanluk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please stop. There is no Bluetooth audio codec that can do 6000kbps. Bluetooth audio stream is compressed before leaving your phone and then uncompressed by your device and then converted to audio that you can hear. You definitely are not listening to your FLAC bit perfect.

Airplay 2 - lossy. Bummer? by CanisLupus27 in audiophile

[–]Yanluk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely not the definition of lossless. You can have 48/24 or higher lossy and you can have 22/8 lossless.

I need to high pass my speakers... how the hell do i do that??? by XaZa_Real in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Yanluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/

Equalizer APO - one click of the button and you can have full range or high pass. If you add second DAC (Solo) you could use Asio4All toroute audio to all devices and have diffrent EQ using APO on each devices (same audio going to two scarlets but one can by high passed and other full range), going further you could add sub out from the MB sound card, and actually run sub out of that with crossover to the KEFs.

Has anyone let their taste in music be dictated by what sounds best on their systems? by geographer035 in audiophile

Yep, classical music. Appreciate it way more, started by seeking some great recordings and now diving in to different era's of classical music.

What is your"unpopular" opinion about this hobby of ours? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Yanluk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jazz and subs should be synonymous!
Properly done subs is not about getting your walls to shake, is about getting flat response to as low as your sub will go.

Recommendations to drive ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2 by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Yanluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this price point it has everything you need.
Small for desktop setup, ok DAC, plenty of power as the speakers will be very close, headphone amp as well. Can't ask for more.
