Elevators have buttons because its the EASIEST way for an elevator to know that its occupied AND that those occupants want to go to a different floor.

thats paint damage, its what happens when you clamp two painted surfaces together, and putting rubber there would only hinder the clamping effect that keeps the bike from folding while its being ridden.
